The morning was taken up with still more shopping and other secret women's business. I spent an hour wandering around backstreets near Bonham Strand best tours of China: it was bustling but not crowded, and no one was rushing anywhere.
We just missed the ferry to Lantau Island, so we caught the MTR to Tung Chung instead. Here, on the north side of the island, near the airport, high-rise apartment blocks form an enclave that seems like a commuter suburb largely separate from the rest of the island.
When we got there, the skyway was not operating, so instead we purchased a bus daypass, patiently waited 10 moments for a bus, and then had a hot 45 moment journey to Ngong Called ping and the Big Buddha, doing three-and-a-half ends of a difficult rectangle instead of the immediate 6km on the skyway. So we also provided up our strategy to check out Tai O sportfishing town, and just got the bus to Mui Wo — which was a hot and drowsy drive.
And also, travel to China do not miss the Yangtze River cruises.
