CHICAGO -- The Cubs havent had much success against the Brewers this season. Stitched NFL Nike Jerseys . With a wild comeback win on Thursday, Chicago at least got the last laugh against their NL Central rival. Jonathan Lucroy hit a grand slam and drove in seven runs for Milwaukee, but Alfonso Sorianos RBI single capped a three-run comeback in the ninth inning that lifted the Chicago Cubs over the Brewers 12-11. The Cubs win capped a lopsided season series between the teams that saw Milwaukee take 13 of 17 games. Cubs manager Dale Sveum was a coach for the Brewers before taking the reins in Chicago. "Anybody else need a nap?" Sveum asked after the 4-hour, 9-minute marathon. In a seesaw game featuring a combined 15 extra-base hits, the Cubs led 3-0, trailed 9-3 and were still down 11-9 going into the ninth. Starlin Castro hit an RBI single against Francisco Rodriguez (2-7), Anthony Rizzo tied it with his second double of the afternoon and Soriano won the game with his one-out drive off the centre-field wall. "Those young guys dont give up," Soriano said. "When were losing like were losing, a lot of games, you have to come the ballpark with energy. We try our best. We try to play hard and win games." Lucroy tied his career high for RBIs and Rickie Weeks had five hits. Ryan Braun and Cody Ransom also homered for Milwaukee, which had won eight straight against the Cubs. "To put up runs like we did and then give it all away, its kind of tough to be a part of," Lucroy said. "Fun game offensively, but defensively didnt cut it." Ransom led off the seventh with a go-ahead solo shot to centre off Blake Parker after Chicago rallied to tie the game with a six-run sixth. Lucroys third-inning shot landed on Waveland Avenue, erasing the Cubs early 3-0 lead. Lucroy also stroked a two-run single in the sixth and an RBI single in the eighth, matching the seven RBIs he had May 20 against Minnesota. Brauns league-leading 36th homer was even more impressive, clearing the batters eye beyond the ivy in centre field and nearly hitting the camera booth. "Once we got the big lead and they came back we just didnt have the momentum," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. Shaun Marcum was making his second start after missing two months because of elbow soreness. He allowed three runs, scattering five hits and four walks while striking out four. Marcum had to leave the game after throwing 85 pitches because of right calf cramping. "I wasnt very good from the get go, wasnt locating anything," Marcum said. "All in all, today wasnt a good day." Carlos Marmol (2-2) picked up the win in relief. Cubs rookie Brooks Raley gave up seven runs and 10 hits in four innings in his last outing of the season. Before the game, Sveum said that Raley would be shut down because of an innings limit. Raley will finish the season 1-2 with an 8.14 ERA in his first five big-league starts. "I knew it was my last start going into the game," Raley said. "Obviously Id like it to have gone differently, but we won the game so thats exciting." Brett Jackson, another rookie, reached base four times. He doubled twice in the sixth, including a slicing two-bagger up the left-field line that tied the score at 9-apiece. "A lot of good work on offence," Jackson said. "A couple of huge innings. Very fun. Awesome, big hit by Sori. Great to come out with a win against these guys." David DeJesus and Luis Valbuena had three hits each for Chicago, which avoided falling 32 games under .500 for the first time since finishing the 2000 season 65-97. "Finally we won the last game at least and didnt get swept at home," Soriano said. "(The kids) had a very big at-bats today." NOTES: Darwin Barney played his 115th consecutive errorless game at second base, extending the single-season NL record he set on Wednesday. Barney is eight games shy of Ryne Sandbergs Cubs record for errorless games including streaks over multiple seasons. . Sveum said LHP Chris Rusin will likely be recalled from Triple-A Iowa to assume Raleys spot in the Chicago rotation. Rusin held the Brewers to one run and one hit over five innings on Aug. 21, his only big-league appearance to date. . Sveum said that Luis Valbuena may see the bulk of the action at third base going forward after prospect Josh Vitters struggled to a 5 for 53 start after being recalled from the minors for the first time. cheap jerseys . -- Albert Pujols and the Los Angeles Angels will outspend the Oakland Athletics any day. cheap jerseys 2013 . The White Sox gave him one. They staked Peavy to an early eight-run lead and he cruised for seven innings on Thursday night as Chicago rocked Cleveland 8-1 to split the four-game series against the AL Central-leading Indians. Adam Dunn hit his 10th homer, a two-run shot in the first inning and the White Sox tacked on six runs in the fourth off Jeanmar Gomez (2-2). That eased the burden on Peavy, who threw 122 pitches in his previous start and pitched nine innings in the two before that. Peavy (4-1) allowed seven hits, struck out five and had little difficulty in subduing the Indians, who didnt get a runner past second base until the seventh. He has been overpowering in his last five starts, posting a 1.36 ERA. "I had great stuff," Peavy said. "It wasnt an easy start by any means, but to have a start where you can be aggressive and throw a lot of strikes and not have to really work hard was nice. If you could draw it up like that for all 30-some starts, it would be a perfect world." Alexei Ramirez had three hits and Alejandro De Aza drove in two runs for the White Sox, who had only one extra-base hit -- Dunns 425-foot blast off Gomez, who was tagged for eight runs and nine hits in 6 2-3 innings. After playing in seven straight games decided by two runs or fewer, the White Sox finally had a somewhat relaxed nine innings. They were swept in a day-night doubleheader on Monday, but bounced back to take the final two games in the series. Chicago improved to 14-5 in its last 19 games at Progressive Field. "It was good to come back with these two wins after losing the doubleheader," Peavy said. "You have to beat the team in first place in your division." Peavy was only in trouble once before allowing a run in the seventh. Travis Hafner led off Clevelands second with a single, and one out later, Shin-Soo Choo singled. Michael Brantley followed by hitting a line drive up the middle that Peavy somehow trapped against his stomach before throwing to first to force Choo for an inning-ending double play. Brantley just shook his head and laughed as he headed back to the dugout. "I tried to get in front of it," Peavy said. "I kind of got it right in the chest. I dont think it hit my glove until it rolled in." Peavy got ahead of nearly every Cleveland hitter, preventing the Indians from being too selective. "He attacked the sstrike zone," Indians manager Manny Acta said.dddddddddddd "He went after guys." Dunns homer was really all Peavy needed. After the start of the game was delayed for 64 minutes by rain that never arrived, Gomez walked De Aza leading off. One out later, Dunn drove a 1-0 pitch deep into the lower seats in right, the burly designated hitters sixth homer in the last 11 games. Dunn hit just 11 homers last season and didnt connect for his 10th until July 26. "I dont feel bad, but I dont feel like Im on fire by any means," Dunn said. Dunn would later strike out in his 36th consecutive game, which according research done by the Indians, is the longest streak since pitcher Bob Veale (1967-68). The White Sox added six runs in the fourth, torturing Gomez by going base to base with hard-hit singles and a pair of walks to open an 8-0 lead. A.J. Pierzynski, Ramirez and Eduardo Escobar each hit RBI singles before De Aza drove in two runs with a single to centre. Gordon Beckham followed with a sinking liner to left that Johnny Damon snared with a diving catch for the second out, but Escobar, starting in place of Brent Morel, alertly tagged and scored to cap the inning. As Gomez struggled, Indians manager Manny Acta elected not to get anyone up in his overworked bullpen. Peavy also allowed White Sox manager Robin Ventura to rest his relievers. Before the game, the club announced that new closer Chris Sale would undergo an MRI on his sore left elbow Thursday in Chicago. Sale was recently moved from the starting rotation into the closers role because of tenderness in his elbow. Ventura insisted the move is precautionary at this point, but the team wont really know until it gets test results on the 23-year-old Sale. NOTES: The Indians remain uncertain about RHP Roberto Hernandezs future. Acta said Hernandezs representatives thought he would have rejoined the club by now, but hes been unable to get a work visa to return to the U.S. ...
