HOUSTON - On Thursday, the parents of Houston rookie starter Dallas Keuchel surprised him with the news that they had found last-minute bargain airline tickets from Tulsa to see his next start. Cheap Jerseys Wholesale . On Saturday, he put on a show for them and the rest of the crowd by pitching a complete game to get his first win in his second major league start. J.D Martinez and Jordan Schafer hit consecutive homers in Houstons four-run fifth inning to back up Keuchels performance and help the Astros to an 8-1 win over the Cleveland Indians. "I know both my parents probably cried a little bit," Keuchel said. "They got a last-minute deal out here from Southwest, so it was special." Keuchel (1-0) allowed six hits and struck out three with just one walk, after allowing four hits and a run in five innings in his major league-debut against the Rangers last week. "Im so proud of Dallas being able to come in here and do that," Houston manager Brad Mills said. "Thats his second outing and hes pitched extremely well both outings. He did a good job in Texas, and you cant say enough about the job he did today. I thought he mixed his pitches, got behind in the count, and was able to come back with only the one walk." It was the first complete game for Houston since June 2011 and the first by an Astros rookie since Taylor Buchholz did it in May 2006. Keuchel was elevated from Triple-A Oklahoma City when Bud Norris went on the disabled list. Mills admitted that Keuchels success is going to make things tricky down the road. "Thats what you want guys to do. You want to make those decisions difficult," he said. "When a guy throws your first complete game of the year and throws two real good games, I think youve got to kind of wonder a little bit. Were going to think about some things and go from there." The Astros had scored just one run in the last three games combined and were hitless through the first four innings on Saturday. They discovered some offence in the fifth inning and tied it at 1, before Martinezs two-run shot gave them a 3-1 lead. Schafer connected on the next pitch to extend the advantage. Clevelands Jeanmar Gomez (4-7) got off to a great start, but was undone by his fifth-inning struggles. He allowed six hits and five runs in 5 2-3 innings. Jose Altuve added a solo homer in the eighth inning, and Chris Johnson finished with two RBIs and a pair of doubles for Houston. Asdrubal Cabrera led off the fourth inning with his ninth home run to put Cleveland up 1-0. Keuchel got back on track, retiring the next nine batters. The 24-year-old Keuchel didnt allow another hit until a single by Jason Kipnis to start the seventh inning. But Jose Lopez grounded into a force out before Keuchel retired the next two batters to end the inning. He pitched a 1-2-3 eighth inning before allowing two hits in a scoreless ninth to wrap up his victory. "Their kid pitched a tremendous game," Indians manager Manny Acta said. "He pitched very effectively, changed speeds very well and did an outstanding job." The Astros didnt get a hit until Brian Bogusevic and Johnson connected on back-to-back doubles to start the fifth inning and tie it 1-all. Martinezs one-out homer, which bounced high on the wall above the Crawford Boxes in left field, scored Johnson and gave Houston a 3-1 lead. "I just wanted to hit something hard and get the run in and get the lead for us," Martinez said of his homer. "It felt great. When I hit it, I knew it was gone right away." Schafer then went deep to the Crawford Boxes for his first homer since April 22. Altuve singled with two outs in that inning, but was caught stealing to end the inning. Jed Lowrie walked to start the sixth and scored from first on a double by Carlos Lee to leave Houston up 5-1. Gomez retired Bogusevic and Johnson before he was replaced by Tony Sipp, who struck out Jason Castro to end the inning. Lowrie doubled after the homer by Altuve in the eighth inning and scored on a double by Lee to make it 7-1. Johnsons second double of the game came with one out to score Lee and leave Houston with a season-high nine extra-base hits. The Astros hadnt had more than six in a game before Saturday. NOTES: Kipnis finished with three hits. ... Houston LF Justin Maxwell was scratched from the lineup because of an injured left ankle that has been bothering him for a while. He was replaced Martinez. ... These teams wrap up the series on Sunday when Clevelands Derek Lowe opposes left-hander J.A. Happ. Cheap Jerseys From China . Shoes were lined up methodically along the bottom, jerseys and other clothing hung on a rod, a cap sat on the top shelf and the team helmet hung on its customary hook. Cheap Jerseys Free Shipping . This time, Stephen Curry made sure history wouldnt repeat against another Western Conference opponent. He scored Golden States first 11 points, then hit 2 of 3 shots in the fourth quarter, including his fourth 3-pointer, to lead the Warriors over the Utah Jazz 94-83 on Wednesday night. http://cheapjerseys.ucigreeks.com/ . -- The question is no longer whether Greg Jennings will play Sunday at Indianapolis. Cheap Jerseys China . Hudon, who suffered a lower back injury on Friday, will be replaced by forward Mark McNeill of the WHLs Prince Albert Raiders. "When he came into training camp in Calgary he did have some lingering lower back pain, but nothing that wasnt manageable," said head coach Steve Spott. Cheap NFL Jerseys . -- The Oakland Athletics have had a different star for just about every monumental win theyve had this season.PORTLAND, Ore. -- Injuries, an ejection and a dubious record. The Portland Trail Blazers 92-74 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Monday night had a little bit of everything. Both sides were beset by injuries, with Portland missing starters Wesley Matthews and Nicolas Batum, and Toronto losing starters Andrea Bargnani and Kyle Lowry during the game. Then Torontos Amir Johnson punctuated his ejection from the game by throwing his mouthpiece at the official who tossed him. And finally, the Blazers went 0 for 20 from 3-point range, a new NBA record for futility. "I dont want to break records like that," said Portland star LaMarcus Aldridge, who had 30 points and 12 rebounds. J.J. Hickson added 16 points and 11 boards for the Blazers, who led by as many as 18 points in the second half. DeMar DeRozan had 20 points for the Raptors, who have dropped eight straight games against Portland. But the game was more about who didnt play -- or had to leave. Batum was shelved because of back pain that hampered him in Portlands 99-80 home loss to Sacramento on Saturday, while Matthews was out because he strained his left hip in the fourth quarter against the Kings. Matthews tried to drive to the basket during warmups and limped off to the locker room, wincing. Matthews missed a game for the first time in his four-year NBA career. He had played in 250 straight games, second-most among active players behind Oklahoma Citys Russell Westbrook. To replace Matthews and Batum, the Blazers started Sasha Pavlovic and rookie Victor Claver. "It felt great to know we could be down a couple of players and still get the win," Hickson said. "We knew we were going to have to play extra hard because we were short-handed, but guys stepped up and we got the win." The Raptors were hurt late in the first quarter when Bargnani went to the locker room after falling awkwardly on a dunk. The Raptors said later that X-rays on his elbow were negative, but he did not return. "He landed on his elbow and lost feeling in his hand," Raptors coach Dwane Casey said. "Well have to wait and see tomorrow how it is." Toronto already was without Linas Kleiza, who has a sore right knee from Sunday nights 102-83 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Blazers pulled ahead 30-24 in the second quarter on Pavlovics running hook, but the Raptors battled back and tied it at 38 on Ed& Davis putback. Cheap Jerseys. Portland led 44-40 at the break and extended the lead with a 9-0 run capped by Aldridges hook shot and free throw that made it 58-46 midway through the third quarter. Lowry did not play in the second half after he hurt his right shoulder in a fall. "Somebody grabbed his arm and he hit the floor and he just felt he had a knot in his back," Casey said. The Raptors lost Johnson when he was ejected with 5:01 left in the third quarter. He had words with referee David Jones while trying to take the ball from him following a Portland free throw. After Johnson was ejected, he threw his mouthpiece at Jones and fellow players had to restrain him before he was escorted from the floor. Johnson said that before free throws, he has a habit of rubbing the ball and then passing it to the ref. "I guess the ref didnt let me have the ball so we kind of got into a tug of war," he said. "No words were really said and he rejected me out of the game and I kind of lost my cool from there." Casey said Johnsons actions were completely out of character. "I dont know what happened with Amir. He kind of lost his mind there for a little bit," the coach said. "I told him we cant have that on a night where were short-handed and were in a situation where were scrambling. We just gotta have more discipline than that." Pavlovics fast-break layup put Portland up 79-68 and Hickson extended the lead to 83-68 with an alley-oop dunk from Nolan Smith. Pavlovic finished 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists in his first start of the season. "I though Sasha Pavlovic played a terrific game -- defensively more than anything else, but he played heavy minutes and I though he did a terrific job defensively and offensively. Obviously, LaMarcus did everything we needed from him," Blazers coach Terry Stotts said. "I thought it was a really good team win. We got a lot of good effort from a lot of people." NOTES: Stotts and Casey are close friends, having worked together with the Seattle SuperSonics and the Dallas Mavericks. Casey said their familiarity doesnt mean the two arent competitive. "When we go out on the floor its like playing your brother. You want to beat him," Casey said. ... It was Aldridges fourth straight double-double and seventh of the season. ... The Raptors 74 points are the fewest theyve ever scored against the Blazers. ' ' '
