Dave Naylor, TSN: My thumb is down to the Bills in Toronto series for serving table scraps to football fans north of the border for five consecutive seasons. Charles Mann Jersey . The NFL schedule was released this week and we learned the Bills will be hosting the Seattle Seahawks on Dec. 16th at Rogers Centre. What do the Seahawks have in common with the Bills four previous Toronto opponents - the Dolphins, Jets, Bears and Redskins? Well, every one of them was coming off a losing season. Theres a good chance that this years week15 matchup between the Seahawks and Bills will be meaningless - for both teams. The Bills recently moved a preseason game which had been planned for Toronto back to Buffalo. Ive got an idea for another game they should take back as well. Steve Simmons, Sun Media: My thumb is down to Bobby Valentine, for bringing on unnecessary controversy in his first days managing the Boston Red Sox. Now, you have to understand: this is Boston. You dont have to look for baseball controversy. It usually finds itself. But bobby V apparently couldnt help himself. He wasnt 10 games into his first season on the job when he decided to publicly question Kevin Youkilis without talking to the veteran 3rd baseman first. That set off an unnecessary storm, prompting star second baseman Dustin Pedroia to admonish the manager - saying thats not how we do things around here. The Red Soxs job is hard enough on its own without Valentine creating fires he wont necessarily be able to put out. Cathal Kelly, Toronto Star: My thumb is up for Randy Starkman, a sports writer and the last of a breed. Randy was a friend to everyone at this table. He died this week at age 51. Randy owned the amateur athletics beat in this country. The Olympics made Adam van Koeverden, Cara Hughes and a host of others famous, but Randys stories made them human. In the 80s, he controlled the beat by working harder than everybody else. By the eighties, he managed it because he was the last guy exclusively covering the non-profit slice of sports at a Canadian newspaper or wire service. Now that hes gone, he will not be replaced. Not in print at least. Yes, its a great loss. But its also fitting that someone like Randy, who did it with passion and class for so long, should be the guy who gets to turn out the lights. Dave Hodge, TSN: Never mind Bobby Valentine and whats going on this season, my thumb is up to the Boston Red Sox and their 100-year-old home, Fenway Park. The centennial anniversary was celebrated officially on Friday, with a loss to the Yankees, mind you. But almost everyone who attended and was interviewed said the same thing - "I love this place." Now, you could go to Rogers Centre and hear people say "I love baseball, I love the Blue Jays, I love my World Series memories," but how many would be saying "I love this place?" Not nearly as many as at Fenway Park, or is it too harsh to say "not any?" Russ Grimm Jersey . The Minnesota Timberwolves were eager to help him clarify his status. "After a few months of sitting out, I decided, Hey, I dont want to stop playing basketball," Roy said Tuesday at a news conference at Target Center after signing a two-year, $10. Leonard Hankerson Jersey . According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, the basis of NHLs latest proposal is to reduce the leagues financial demands - believed to be approximately $460 million in the leagues first proposal - overall, including a $120 million reduction in its Year One demands. http://www.... . Vilmas latest legal manoeuvr Thursday came shortly after Goodell filed a motion to dismiss Vilmas defamation claims in connection with the leagues bounty investigation. Vilma has said his suspension is without merit and Goodell has made false public comments that have damaged Vilmas reputation and hurt his ability to make a living. [url=http://www.shopredskinsgear.us/sean-taylor-redskins-jersey/]Sean Taylor Jersey . -- The Chicago Bears will not know until at least Thursday and possibly Friday whether quarterback Jay Cutler will play against the Minnesota Vikings this weekend. Sonny Jurgensen Jersey . Xavi Hernandez unlocked Mallorcas defence with a free kick in the 28th minute before Messi struck in the 44th. Cristian Tello added a third goal a minute later at Iberostar stadium. After Mallorca netted twice early in the second half to breathe life into the match, Messi stepped up to score again the 70th to ensure victory as Barcelona rebounded from its loss at Celtic in the Champions League with its 10th win in 11 rounds.LEVI, Finland -- Olympic champion Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany overcame a nagging hip injury and local favourite Tanja Poutiainen on Saturday, putting down a blazing second run to overtake the Finn and win the first womens World Cup slalom of the season. The German was second behind Poutiainen after the first run but had the fastest time in the second for a total time of 1 minute, 55.58 seconds. "Its amazing, Im so happy," said Hoefl-Riesch, who also won a slalom in Levi in 2009 and was second here in 2010. "Im already looking forward to next year." Poutiainen led by 0.30 seconds after the first to raise hopes of a home victory, but couldnt keep up in the second and finished 0.55 behind Hoefl-Riesch. Hoefl-Riesch competed despite being limited in training lately because of an ailing hip, and said she wasnt getting enough speed on the flat portions of the course. "So I knew I had to take a lot of risks on the steep," she said. "I had to attack." American teenager Mikaela Shiffrin held on to third place for the second podium finish of her career, 0.74 seconds back. This was her first race in Levi -- the northernmost venue on the World Cup circuit, some 80 milles north of the Arctic Circle. Robert Griffin III Camo Jersey. . "Im speechless, really," said the 17-year-old Shiffrin, who was also third in a slalom in Lienz, Austria, last year. "I couldnt really ask for more. ... This is going to give me a lot of confidence." Slovenias Tina Maze, who won the giant slalom in the season opener in Soelden, Austria, two weeks ago, was fourth to stay first in the overall World Cup standings with 150 points. Defending overall World Cup champion Lindsey Vonn of the United States skipped the race. Hoefl-Riesch is second overall with 124 points and Poutiainen is third with 91. Marie-Michele Gagnon of Lac-Etchemin, Que., was 10th, while Erin Mielzynski of Guelph, Ont., tied for 14th. Austrian slalom specialist Marlies Schild went out in the first run when she straddled a gate just before the finish. "I had a little mistake before the combination and then I was just straight and yeah ... I have to look at it with my coaches," Schild said. Schild, the reigning World Cup slalom champion, won the Levi races in 2006 and 2010 and was looking to become the first woman to win three times at the Finnish venue. Last season, she won six of 10 slaloms. ' ' '
