CHICAGO -- The White Sox havent been able to solve the Kansas City Royals lately. Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping . Now, the AL Central leaders have to figure out a way to slow a dangerous division opponent. Mike Moustakas and Jeff Francoeur hit RBI singles in the 10th inning that sent Kansas City over Chicago 2-1 Sunday, the Royals seventh win in the last eight meetings between the clubs. The Royals nicked Brett Myers (2-3), the seventh of eight White Sox pitchers. With two outs and the bases empty, Myers walked Billy Butler. Salvador Perez, Moustakas and Francoeur then hit consecutive singles. The game was scoreless in the ninth when the White Sox loaded the bases, but Alex Rios hit into a double play. Chicago scored in the 10th, but stranded the tying run on third base. "Situationally, we didnt do what we wanted to do offensively," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said. "It was a bad day all the way around." Myers has allowed 18 hits and 12 runs in 3 1-3 innings against Kansas City this season. "It seems like every time I face them ... balls find the holes and stuff like that," Myers said. "I dont necessarily think the quality of the pitches are bad." The White Sox still hold a two-game lead over the Tigers, who start a four-game series in Chicago starting on Monday night. The Tigers have won seven straight against the White Sox and 10 of 14 overall this season. Kelvin Herrera (3-2) got the win after getting Rios to bounce into that key double play. Chicago had a chance to pull out the win after Greg Holland walked two and gave up Gordon Beckhams RBI double in the 10th. Holland escaped with his 13th save by striking out Alejandro De Aza and Ray Olmedo with a runner at third. "Unfortunately for us, the shadows really played a huge part in that last inning," Beckham said. "It was tough to see and Holland, hes got a great slider. Hes throwing 98 miles per hour. Hes really good." Jeremy Guthrie held Chicago to six hits over eight shutout innings, striking out four, but left with a no-decision. Hes thrown 23 2-3 innings against the White Sox this season without allowing an earned run. "Guthrie was phenomenal," Royals manager Ned Yost said. "I mean really phenomenal. We didnt get him any runs." The Royals have won the last seven games Guthries taken the mound, during which hes 4-0 with a 1.70 ERA. "He just mixes pitches real well and got quick outs," Beckham said. "Hes got a lot of sink on the ball." Hector Santiago threw four scoreless innings, and four White Sox relievers added five more shutout frames before the Royals scored in the 10th. Chicago helped Guthries cause by running into three outs on the bases. Francoeur threw out pinch-runner Alexei Ramirez at third to end the seventh for his big league-leading 18th outfield assist. "Outfield defence was tremendous today," Yost said. Guthrie retired 10 straight batters in one stretch. He took a no-hit bid into the eighth inning in his last start against the White Sox, a no-decision in the Royals 5-2 win on Aug. 19. "Thats what its all about," Guthrie said. "If the team wins every time you pitch, thats a good thing." Santiago struck out eight in his second major league start after holding Minnesota to one run over five innings on Sept. 3. His first 36 big league appearances this season came in relief, but he feels like hes shown enough to get at least one more start in the heat of a pennant race. "I think I threw well enough to probably get another start but next time I have to get early outs," Santiago said. The White Sox have dropped eight of 12 and lack momentum as they begin a crucial set against a team they are 9-23 against over the last two years. "Obviously you dont want to lose that series and I thought we played OK today," Beckham said. "An important series coming up and no rest. Weve got to come back tomorrow and do it. We know its important. Were excited to play them at home and not in Detroit, I guess." NOTES: Ramirez was a late scratch from Chicagos starting lineup after arriving late to U.S. Cellular Field. He was replaced by Olmedo, who went 0 for 4 and committed an error. Ramirez leads AL shortstops with 66 RBIs, but hes just 1 for 25 lifetime against Guthrie. ... The White Sox were also without Adam Dunn and Kevin Youkilis for a third straight game. Dunn is considered day-to-day with a strained right oblique, while Youkilis is expected back on Monday after returning home for the birth of his son. ... Perez stretched his career-best hitting streak to 14 games, the longest streak by a Royals player this season. Wholesale Jerseys From China . The referee issued a red card to Camara, so he will be suspended a total of two games. Earthquakes defender Victor Bernardez received a one-game suspension and was fined for endangering the safety of Montreal midfielder Lamar Neagle in the 25th minute of the Impacts 3-1 victory Saturday. PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers turned Robert Griffin III into just another rookie quarterback. The Steelers swarmed Washingtons precocious star Sunday, keeping Griffin in check during a dominant 27-12 victory. Griffin completed just 16 of 34 passes for 177 yards and a score while managing 8 yards rushing. Ben Roethlisberger had no such issues against Washingtons depleted defence, throwing for 222 yards and three touchdowns as the Steelers (4-3) won consecutive games for the first time this season. Jonathan Dwyer added 107 yards rushing in his second NFL start. Pittsburgh jumped on Washington (3-5) early, scoring on its first four possessions and never letting Griffin get loose. Heath Miller caught four passes for 46 yards and his sixth touchdown of the season for the Steelers, who suddenly look like their normal selves in a wide-open AFC. Playing in 1934 throwback uniforms that made certain players resemble hulking bumblebees, Pittsburgh improved to 14-1 against rookie quarterbacks since 2004, doing to Griffin what theyve done to the likes of Eli Manning and Joe Flacco. The second overall pick in last Aprils draft has taken the NFL by storm, his dazzling playmaking turning the moribund Redskins into one of the leagues more compelling teams. It all came to a crashing halt on a wet, raw day at Heinz Field. Washington receivers struggled to catch the ball -- dropping 10 passes -- and Griffin found little room to showcase his brilliant speed. He ran just five times and was hemmed in by a defence that looked just fine without safety Troy Polamalu. The Steelers held the NFLs top rushing offence to a season-low 86 yards and made sure Griffin got knocked around whenever he attempted to freelance. Washington did its best to free up space for Griffin, at one point sending him out as a wide receiver in the second quarter. But Griffin was flagged for pass interference while trying to grab Josh Morgans wobbly pass, another mistake by the Redskins on an afternoon full of them While Washingtton looked very much like a work in progress, the Steelers continued to round into form. Wholesale Jerseys Supply. Pittsburgh wobbled to a 2-3 start that included losses to Oakland and Tennessee, raising questions about the Steelers ability to contender. Not so fast. Roethlisberger continued to thrive in new offensive co-ordinator Todd Haleys system, spreading 24 completions to nine receivers. Dwyer, starting in place of injured Rashard Mendenhall, became the first Steelers running back to top 100 yards in consecutive games in four years. Pittsburgh wasted little time putting the pressure on. Roethlisberger marched the Steelers 76 yards on 12 plays to start the game, the final play a 1-yard touchdown pass to little-used tight end Leonard Pope. The Steelers made it 10-0 on a 48-yard field goal by Shaun Suisham, but the Redskins got back in it briefly when Griffin connected with Santana Moss for a 2-yard score on fourth-and-goal. The extra point was blocked, however. Pittsburgh, which reached Washington territory on its first six possessions, went in front 17-6 when Roethlisberger ad-libbed in the pocket and found Miller in the back of the end zone. The score was Millers 37th career scoring grab, tying him with Elbie Nickel for the franchise record for touchdown receptions by a tight end. Suisham added a second field goal late in the half. The Steelers made a habit the first few weeks of the season of failing to put away opponents. They had no trouble Sunday. After Kai Forbaths field goal pulled Washington within 20-9, Roethlisberger directed Pittsburgh 80 yards in 11 plays, pushing the lead to 27-9 on a 1-yard flip to fullback Will Johnson. Washington mustered little the rest of the way and eventually lost its composure. Cornerback DeAngelo Hall was ejected in the fourth quarter after getting in the face of an official, and Griffin ended the day with a simple kneel down on the Redskins last possession, eager to get out of the rain and away from the worst performance of his short career.
