CHICAGO - A day after their bats were silenced, the Chicago White Sox bounced back on Saturday night. Dayan Viciedo homered and drove in four runs, Alex Rios delivered a tiebreaking single in the seventh inning, and the White Sox rallied to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-6. The White Sox knocked out 14 hits after mustering just three in a 10-inning, 1-0 loss Friday night. "Its a confidence boost for the offence," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said. "You can sit there and hang your head and not do anything about it, but they have the ability to take it day by day and not let yesterday affect today. Its a credit to these guys." With the game tied 6-6, Gordon Beckham led off the seventh with a single and stole second. After an intentional walk to Paul Konerko, Rios put Chicago ahead for good. Addison Reed got Corey Hart to ground into a force out to leave the bases loaded in the eighth and pitched a scoreless ninth for his ninth save in 10 chances. The Brewers stranded 10 runners. Viciedo, who entered 7-for-53 (.132) with one extra-base hit and one multi-hit game in June, had three hits including a two-run homer that gave the White Sox a 4-2 lead in the fourth. "It feels great," Viciedo said through an interpreter. "Its been a really tough month, but as far as that affecting my confidence its just one of those things you got to keep going at it, keep practicing, and it will turn around." Rios finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Axelrod was called up from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday and made his second start of the season in place of Philip Humber (right elbow strain), who went on the 15-day disabled list. He allowed five runs -- four earned -- in 5 1-3 innings. "I hadnt pitched in nine days so it was good to get back out there," Axelrod said. "The offence picked me up at the end there." The Brewers opened the scoring in the second on a defensive miscue. George Kottaras doubled down the left field line, and Viciedo misplayed the carom in the corner, allowing Aramis Ramirez to score from first. Chicago responded in the bottom half with back-to-back RBI singles from Viciedo and Alexei Ramirez to take a 2-1 lead. Milwaukee tied it in the third on an RBI single by Ryan Braun. The hit extended Brauns overall hitting streak to 17 games and his interleague streak to 27. Beckham had three hits, including an RBI single in the eighth to cap the scoring. Aramis Ramirez singled twice and scored twice, extending his hitting streak to seven. Leadoff man Norichika Aoki had three hits, scored twice, and tied a Brewers franchise record with four stolen bases. "I think thats a big part of my game, being aggressive on the bases and going after the next base," Aoki said through an interpreter.
