Lhasa Drepung Monastery is regarded one of the 'Three Excellent Monasteries' (the other two are the Ganden Monastery and the Sera Monastery. History of Drepung Monastery
Drepung Monastery began in 1416by Tsongkapa's disciple Jamyang Choeje. It was the property of the Dalai Lamas before the Potala Structure was designed in the Seventeenth millennium.
