FRANKFURT, Germany -- Bundesliga club Hoffenheim fired coach Markus Babbel on Monday after four straight losses. The expected dismissal came one day after a 4-1 home loss to Werder Bremen. "Its a difficult day for all of us but we felt we needed a new beginning," Hoffenheim sporting director Andreas Mueller said. "Having seen the match yesterday, I was convinced we had to this." Babbel was in charge for less than 10 months. Hoffenheim has only 12 points from 15 matches and is third from last, in the relegation playoff place. The team has conceded a league-high 36 goals. After the loss to Werder, the third straight home defeat, Mueller declined to back Babbel, saying the "situation was precarious." Babbel will be provisionally replaced by under-23 coach Frank Kramer until the club finds a new coach during the winter break. There are two more rounds in the Bundesliga before it recesses until mid-January. December remains a bad month for Babbel, a former Germany, Bayern Munich and Liverpool defender. He lost his job in Stuttgart in December 2009 and was also fired by Hertha Berlin in December 2011. Babbel reshuffled the squad significantly during the off-season, releasing many players, but the moves failed to rejuvenate the stagnating team. Backed by software millionaire Dietmar Hopp, Hoffenheim jumped from a fifth-division club to the Bundesliga in less than a decade. It won promotion to the top division in 2008 and led the table at the halfway of its debut season before falling to finish seventh. But the team has been stagnating and looks set to fight against relegation for the remainder of the season. cheap jerseys . -- Major League Baseball could start in-season testing for human growth hormone next year. wholesale nfl jerseys . The American twins won the U.JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars are giving oft-injured defensive end Aaron Kampman a chance to catch on elsewhere. The Jaguars released the veteran pass rusher Thursday, five days before the start of a mandatory, three-day minicamp. Kampman has missed 28 games over the last three seasons while playing for Jacksonville and Green Bay, including 13 last year. He had 57 tackles and four sacks in 11 games during his two seasons with the Jaguars. He sat out all of organized team activities last month while recovering from a second surgery on his right knee. With a salary near $5 million in 2012, and the return of Austen Lane and John Chick from injuries and the addition of second-round draft pick Andre Branch, it became unlikely that Kampman would make the 53-man roster. Releasing him now gives Kampman a better chance to sign with another team and prove he is healthy. Kampman was one of the leagues elite pass rushers in his prime with the Packers, recording 48 sacks between 2004 and 2008. But he tore the anteriior cruciate ligament in his left knee in 2009 and hasnt been the same since.dddddddddddd Despite the injury, the Jaguars gave Kampman a four-year contract worth $25 million in 2010. The deal included $10 million guaranteed. Kampman played eight games in 2010 before tearing the ACL in his right knee. He tried to come back last season, but had several setbacks. A hamstring injury complicated his rehabilitation and he ended up on injured reserve for a third consecutive season. The Jaguars could have kept him through training camp to see if he could get back to full speed, but his salary would have been really high for someone whose role has been reduced to part-time player. Teammates reacted on Twitter. "Sad to see Kampman go," Lane posted on his Twitter page. "Im grateful for the things he taught me on the field but more importantly about life. I wish him the best of luck!" Added defensive tackle Terrance Knighton: "Aaron Kampman is THE best teammate I ever had. Hate to see him go." ' ' '
