EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- If the Minnesota Vikings are going to get their woeful passing game going on Sunday, it appears they will have to do it without star receiver Percy Harvin. Harvin was listed as doubtful Friday for the game against Detroit after a sprained left ankle kept him out of practice all week. He is widely considered one of the toughest players on the roster, so coach Leslie Frazier said he is not ruling out Harvin entirely just yet. But the coach also made it clear some big progress will have to be made in order for Harvin to give it a go on Sunday. "Hed have to make quite a bit of recovery tomorrow for us to say, well wait until Sunday to see what he can do," Frazier said. "But its possible. Weve seen it happen before. So, well continue to treat him and see how he feels tomorrow." Losing Harvin would be a big blow to a Vikings passing offence ranked 30th. Christian Ponder has struggled mightily and the rest of the teams receiver corps has had difficulty creating separation in the secondary. The Vikings (5-4) have lost three of their last four games and are desperate to get back on the winning track. Without Harvin, the rest of the nondescript receiver corps is made up of Michael Jenkins, Devin Aromashodu, Stephen Burton and rookie Jarius Wright, who will be active for the first time in his career. Harvin was on crutches earlier in the week and still hobbling noticeably around team headquarters as the week progressed. He was unavailable for comment Friday. Defensive tackle LeTroy Guion was listed as doubtful with a turf toe injury, but the Vikings did get Adrian Peterson back at practice Friday after he missed the previous day with an illness. The star running back fully expects to play on Sunday. "You see we definitely get the ball in Percys hands in the pass game. So with him being out, a lot of guys are going to have to step up," Peterson said. "So when Christian drops back, his eyes are going to be really going around and seeing whos open. So, hopefully its a blessing in disguise and we get things going." Its a pretty big leap of faith to say Harvins absence could benefit Ponder. The dynamic fourth-year receiver has been the teams only consistent playmaker in the passing game. He also will take handoffs and is one of the most dangerous kick returners in the league. Marcus Sherels will return kicks if Harvin cant go, and Ponder will have to figure out how to get the ball downfield in other ways after failing to top 65 yards passing in two of the last three games. "Its definitely one of these games, pivotal game of the season to where you lose this one, you put yourselves far behind the 8-ball with six games left and youre going into a bye on a three-game skid," defensive end Jared Allen said. "So, its an absolute, I dont want to say must win, but its one weve got to get." cheap nfl jerseys . Cheer tackle Willie Roafs induction. The Chelsea left back apologized in person to FA chairman David Bernstein on Monday for reacting angrily after a commission set up by the governing body questioned the evidence Cole gave in defending John Terry in a racism case. "He expressed a degree of remorse for what he had done, wished it hadnt happened," Bernstein said Tuesday. "I looked him in the eye and really felt that he meant it." Cole has been charged with misconduct by the FA and is set to be fined, but is free to play for England in Fridays match against San Marino and the away game in Poland on Tuesday -- if selected by coach Roy Hodgson. "His contrition is greater because he realizes that he might have put his position in jeopardy -- and Im very happy he hasnt done that," Hodgson said. "Im pleased thhe chairman has gracefully accepted the apology from Ashley.dddddddddddd I know how saddened he was by it and Im glad its been resolved." Cole is currently training with the England squad at the countrys new national training centre in Burton-upon-Trent, where he greeted Prince William and his wife, Kate, at the facilitys official opening Tuesday. William is the honorary president of the FA, which Cole criticized in the vulgar tweet on Friday. Cole has made 98 appearances and will become only the sixth Englishman to reach the century mark if he plays against San Marino and Poland. He is unlikely to be made captain to mark the occasion, however. "Weve had issues and weve stated publicly many times that we have a very high level of behaviour and so on and so forth required from an English captain," Bernstein said. Cole has until Thursday to respond to the FA charge. He had already issued an apology through his lawyers soon after sending the tweet in question. ' ' '
