WINNIPEG -- After another disappointing season, Blue Bomber general manager Joe Mack should know before the Grey Cup whether he still has a job in 2013, says team president Garth Buchko. Speaking Monday at Investors Group Field, where he was showing off progress on the teams new home, he said he and the board are currently reviewing all aspects of the clubs operations. "The teams record overall is disappointing and its not acceptable and we will review everything in the whole organization, including football operations," said Buchko. There have been reports interim head coach Tim Burke is liked by Bomber brass and will be offered a permanent job. But Buchko said that isnt his issue. "My job is to hire one person and thats the general manager in football operations," he said. "What happens with the coach after that is the general managers job and so I need to make an assessment on Joe Mack, my board needs to make an assessment on Joe Mack." He promised the answer before the Grey Cup. Last year under Mack, the Bombers finished first in the East and made it to the Grey Cup, where they lost to the B.C. Lions. That highlight of Macks tenure is bookended by a 4-14 season in 2010 and this season, with the Bombers in the CFL cellar at 5-12. The teams performance has already cost head coach Paul LaPolice his job. Burke was defensive co-ordinator when he was drafted to take over mid-season. Earlier Monday, Burke said quarterback Buck Pierce will sit out the final game when the Bombers bring down the curtain on 2012 Saturday against the Montreal Alouettes. Pierce heads a long list not expected to suit up. Burke said he had to write it down so he could remember all the names and injuries. Besides Pierce, the team isnt sure No. 1 backup Joey Elliott can start since he banged up his knee Saturday. He had ACL surgery last year. The Bombers will also be without their two best running backs -- Chad Simpson and Will Ford -- plus receivers Terrence Edwards and Isaac Anderson. At this point, they dont expect Johnny Sears to play either, which once again opens a hole at strong-side linebacker. Question marks hang over several other players. Saturdays game means nothing on paper to either team. Montreal (11-6) has sewn up first place in the East and Winnipeg lost its last chance to make the playoffs with a rain-soaked 28-18 loss in Hamilton that closed the doors on Ivor Wynne Stadium. And while this also is the last CFL game at Winnipegs Canad Inns Stadium, even that has no magic. The Bombers had a lot of last-game hoopla last season, when they thought they were going to play 2012 at their new home. That didnt happen, leaving fans to grumble about the failure of Bomber brass to keep them fully informed about construction progress on Investors Group Field. Buchko, Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger and Winnipeg Mayor Sam Katz were at the new $190-million stadium Monday to show off the installation of the artificial turf and goal posts. But crews were still completing other work on the 33,500-seat shared facility, located on the southern edge of town at the University of Manitoba. It was certainly a disappointing season for Pierce, who started less than half the 16 games he managed in 2011 and finished less than half of those, as a foot injury then concussion kept him off the field. This time its his shoulder that will prevent him from playing Saturday. As they begin practising Tuesday for that final game of 2012, Burke says the team knows there will be changes coming in 2013, one way or another. "This is the last chance for us as a team to bring our camaraderie together and to play together as a team and do it for each other. Thats going to be my message." cheap jerseys . The Pittsburgh Steelers may open the playoffs without their leading rusher. Rashard Mendenhall was hurt on the final play of the first quarter in a 13-9 win at Cleveland on Sunday, and coach Mike Tomlin made it sound as if the running back could miss the post-season. "Its not good, of course, when a guy goes down in open grass and is not touched by anyone," Tomlin said. "Experience tells me that, in general, thats not good." Mendenhall went down after a five-yard gain and immediately grabbed his right knee. He walked slowly to the sideline, slapping hands with some teammates on his way to the bench and didnt return. After the game, Mendenhall left the stadium on crutches, his head hanging in disappointment. Tomlin said Mendenhall would be examined when the team gets home. "You should anticipate that he wont be participating next week," Tomlin said. Mendenhall rushed for 38 yards on eight carries before getting hurt, giving him 928 yards this season. Houston rookie quarterback T.J. Yates left the Texans 23-22 loss to Tennessee after one series and was replaced by Jake Delhomme. Coach Gary Kubiak said Yates had a bruised left shoulder but couldve returned if necessary. "Obviously, I didnt want him to go back in the game," Kubiak said. "Well know better where were at (Monday) at this point." The 36-year-old Delhomme, signed Nov. 29 in the wake of season-ending injuries to starter Matt Schaub and backup Matt Leinart, completed 18-of-28 passes, including a five-yard touchdown pass to Bryant Johnson with 14 seconds left. Kubiak called for a two-point conversion at the end. But after a false start penalty, backup centre Thomas Austin snapped the ball over Delhommes head and the game was over. Denver lost two offensive starters in the first half of its 7-3 loss to Kansas City when right guard Chrris Kuper broke his left leg and fullback Spencer Larsen hurt a knee.dddddddddddd "Chris Kuper is a very good friend of mine and to see what happened to him really put a damper on things," said Chiefs quarterback Kyle Orton, a former Broncos teammate. "Hes a great teammate, a great leader on that team and I hope hes able to get back as soon as possible." Kupers replacement, Russ Hochstein, left in the fourth quarter with an undisclosed injury and Chris Clark replaced him. Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe caught six passes for 93 yards in the first half, but sat out the second half with a neck injury. Arizona quarterback John Skelton fainted in the locker room before leading the Cardinals to a 23-20 win over Seattle after getting fluid drained from a knee. "Pre-game he scared us all. He fell out and he had a little fainting issue in the locker-room," wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald said. "We were all nervous about him being ab le to play today and he fought through that and was able to go out there and perform and get our team a win. That shows the kind of toughness he has." St. Louis quarterback Kellen Clemens injured his right leg on a sack by NaVorro Bowman with 2:46 to go in the Rams 34-27 loss to San Francisco. He said X-rays were negative. Miami wide receiver Davone Bess left the Dolphins 19-17 win over the New York Jets in the fourth quarter with a right knee injury. Linebacker Karlos Dansby also went out in the first quarter with a groin injury, while guard Richie Incognito left in the third with a neck injury. Jets linebacker David Harris was ruled out in the fourth quarter with a calf injury. Washingtons Brian Orakpo left the Redskins 34-10 loss at Philadelphia with a left shoulder injury. He was scheduled to have an MRI on Monday. ' ' '
