Lightfastness testing is widely used to evaluate the ability of textiles to resist light-induced color changes. Exposure to light, temperature and humidity can cause fading or discoloration of colored textile materials. These phenomena are the result of photochemical processes of absorbed ultraviolet (UV) and visible light, as well as secondary effects caused by temperature and humidity.
