DENVER -- Jhoulys Chacins strong start ended painfully. Prest... Brown Jersey . Chacin pitched effectively into the seventh inning and became the first Rockies starter to throw 100 pitches in a game since last June before leaving with an injury as Colorado beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-1 Friday night. "Im a little bit worried because I dont want to miss a start," Chacin said while wearing a wrap around his lower back. "I want to keep pitching, especially with how were playing now. Everything is going well and I just want to keep helping my team." Troy Tulowitzki hit a two-run homer and Chacin helped himself by driving in a run with a sacrifice fly as the Rockies won their seventh in row and remained unbeaten in seven home games this season. Chacin (3-0) grabbed his lower left back after throwing his fourth pitch to Arizonas Cody Ross with one out in the seventh inning. He was taken out of the game after a brief conference near the mound with manager Walt Weiss and team trainers and replaced by reliever Wilton Lopez. "We hope its nothing serious," said the Rockies Chris Nelson, who scored on Chacins sacrifice fly after tripling to lead off the fifth. "But when you see your pitcher walk off the mound like that, its a rough one for the whole team." The team said Chacin, who allowed three hits in 6 1-3 innings and struck out five, exited the game with left oblique stiffness and would be re-evaluated Saturday. Chacin was pitching a gem before the injury. "I was throwing my fastball and my sinker down in the zone, attacking the hitter," he said. "I threw a lot of first pitch strikes and that really helped me." But he felt a twinge on his 99th pitch and and a painful pull on his 100th. "I dont know how bad it is," he said. "Theyll see tomorrow how it is. I feel better now, but it was really painful when I threw the ball." The last time a Colorado starter reached the century mark in pitches was last June 12, a stretch of 117 games. It was the longest string in the majors since records started being kept by STATS in 1988. Before the Rockies streak, the longest string of starters not throwing 100 pitches in a game was held by Washington, which went 33 games from Aug. 31, 2011, to April 10, 2012. "He threw all of his pitches over for strikes," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said. "We never really got ahead of him. He got the slider over alot early in the count and we laid off of that. He had good depth to it. Thats probably the best Ive seen him throw." Chacin faced the minimum through four innings, inducing Paul Goldschmidt to ground into an inning ending double play after allowing his first hit, a single by Gerardo Parra, to start the fourth. In the fifth, Chacin worked out of a two-out, bases-loaded jam by fanning his Arizona counterpart, Ian Kennedy. The Diamondbacks got an unearned run on third baseman Nelsons throwing error in the ninth before Rafael Betancourt closed the game out for his sixth save in six chances. Kennedy (1-2), who allowed three runs on three hits in six innings, was overpowering early. He retired the first 10 batters he faced, half of them on strikeouts. With one out in the fourth, Josh Rutledge became the first Rockies batter to reach when he drew a walk. After Carlos Gonzalez struck out, Tulowitzki got hold of Kennedys first offering and drove it over the left field wall for his fifth home run of the season. He had come into the at-bat hitting .166 in 18 plate appearances against Kennedy, though it was his second homer off the Diamondbacks starter. "I had to be pretty much perfect because Chacin threw a pretty good game," Kennedy said. "He kept us off balance. Tough to win that one with someone throwing like that." NOTES: Diamondbacks batting coach Don Baylor, who was the Rockies inaugural manager and led them to their first post-season berth in 1995, was inducted Thursday into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. ... DALLAS -- The Dallas Stars finally beat goaltender Jonathan Quick and the Los Angeles Kings. Steve Ott scored 2:56 into overtime, Loui Eriksson notched the tying goal in the final minute of regulation, and the Stars rallied for a 3-2 victory over the Kings on Wednesday night. Quick had won his previous six starts against Dallas and the Kings were 8-1-1 in their past 10 road meetings with the Stars. The Stars had dropped their first two matchups with the Kings this season, and needed some late-game scoring to end the domination. "We stuck with it," said Ott after his first career regular-season overtime goal and second straight game-winner. "I thought the game plan coming in was pretty well taken care of throughout the whole 60 minutes. The unfortunate part was we were down 2-0 so we had to come back out of a little bit of a hole. I think we out-chanced them a lot tonight and I think the final result was probably the proper result." With the game tied 2-2, Stephane Robidas skated into the Kings zone and flipped a centring pass to Ott, who went hard to the net up the left side and fired a shot past Quick. Eriksson tied it with 20.3 seconds left in regulation with his 10th goal, capitalizing on a set play drawn up by associate coach Willie Desjardins after a timeout. Eriksson took a cross-ice feed from Jamie Benn and beat a sprawling Quick. "Willie drew up the play there," Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said. "We talked about just going forward on the draw and jumping them as quick as you could and when youve got guys like (Benn) out there and Loui that can make plays. They read off it pretty good." The Kings had a bad break on the play when the puck bounced off Los Angeles defenceman Willie Mitchell, giving the Stars possession deep in the offensive zone. "They had three guys lined up on the inside and they go forward," Kings coach Terry Murray saaid. Womens Bruce Smith Elite Jersey. "It hits Mitchell right in the midsection. The puck just bounced down and they took a whack at it, went to their guy on the outside and he makes a play. It was nothing more than that." The Stars went on the power play with 2:21 remaining in regulation when Ethan Moreau was penalized for slashing. Goaltender Kari Lehtonen was pulled for a sixth attacker, but the Kings killed off the power play and appeared to be set up for another win over the Stars. "Its frustrating," Kings centre Anze Kopitar said. "You got a two-goal lead going into the third period and you couldnt close it out. They kept coming. You got to give them credit, they made some plays, but on our part, we just cant sit back like that. We got to play our style and keep the foot on the gas pedal and not back out." Benn added a goal for the Stars, whove won two straight after losing five in a row. Mike Richards stretched his goal-scoring streak to five games and Quick stopped 35 shots for the Kings. Richards and Kevin Westgarth connected during a 36-second span of the second period. Richards put the Kings in front on a shot from the slot that dribbled through Lehtonens pads and over the goal line at 4:53, for his 10th of the season. Richards has eight goals in his past eight games. Westgarth registered his first of the season at 5:29 of the second when his shot from the left circle whistled past Lehtonens left shoulder and into the upper right corner of the net. Benn pulled the Stars to 2-1 at 2:07 of the third period on a shot from low in the left circle, for his sixth of the season. NOTES: Los Angeles is without LW Dustin Penner (quad), D Alex Martinez (upper body) and LW Scott Parse (lower body). ...Stars LW and captain Brenden Morrow was scratched (upper body injury) and is day to day. ... The Stars are 12-0 this season when allowing two goals or fewer. ' ' '
