Located at the foot of Mountain Jinyun, and alongside the River Jialing, Northern Hot Springs Park is situated in the Beibei District of Chongqing of China Maps. 1,500 years ago the site was home to a Buddhist Temple, but was altered greatly during the subsequent Ming and Qing dynasties. The present park is a combination of hot springs, temple buildings, ancient trees, flower gardens, fish and lotus ponds, waterfalls, and limestone caves, and is considered one of the most beautiful tourist sites in Chongqing City.

Locals and visitors alike flock to this scenic outdoor location where the highlight of Chongqing travel is unquestionably the collection of ten natural hot springs where the water emitted maintains a constant temperature of between 35 and 37oC. It's possible to immerse yourself in the pools into which the spring water collects and the minerals contained in it are said to have significant medicinal properties. Besides the springs, the park is teeming with different specimens of flora with an abundance of tropical and semi-tropical plants, flowers and bamboo trees.

The natural landscape of the park takes in hills, gorges and caves all of which can be enjoyed by visitors for China tourism at any time of year, though during the summer when the weather is unpredictable, non-slip footwear is advised.
