New Balance is the only American company that you can still purchase a Made in USA pair of sneakers from. The brand wants to see more domestic manufacturing though, and they’re launching their annual call for other companies to bring those sort of processes back to the States with their “Join Us” campaign. Marking the occasion is a newly released pair of new balance 420 mens, Made in USA of course, with a patriotic colorway that links them up with the brand’s American heritage.

What is it exactly that’s so elite about the New Balance Elite Edition series? That’s never really been communicated officially, but the sneakers included have pushed the boundaries a bit on materials so maybe that’s the qualifier. The new balance 420 sale seen here for example features a sort of jacquard, woven look for the toebox and collar. Mind you they’re not going full-on weave like a Flyknit or a Primeknit, but rather just upgrading a classic NB silhouette with the textile look. The sneakers mark a milestone for the brand as the first Elite Edition set for women.

This Summer has been all about tennis shoes, and we’re speaking literally of the shoes worn on tennis courts thanks to Nike upping the ante with retros of the Nike Air Tech Challenge II and adidas competing with their ever classic Stan Smith line. To say New Balance hasn’t been known for tennis shoes would be an understatement, as they’ve continued to stick with the blueprint of their retro running models, until now. New Balance recently introduced their flagship tennis retro from 1979 in the new balance 420 review and has big plans for the silhouette thanks to collaborations with the likes of hanon shop.

The new balance 420 navy will be touched up by all sorts of European boutiques in 2015. We told you that last week, but now we’ve got photos on the specific pairs from the pack that should give you a better idea of what’s coming. Shown here is the Firmament pair amongst them, which has the German shop tossing some green tones on top of the cream/white base. Featuring a number of bright, contrasting colors, the shoe sees a dark forest green mesh as the base while purple suede and orange branding hit the side panels.
