DENVER -- Randy Foye hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key at the buzzer, and the Denver Nuggets overcame a 36-point performance by Blake Griffin to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 116-115 on Monday night. Kenneth Faried had a career-high 28 points and 11 rebounds for the Nuggets, who denied the Clippers their sixth win in seven games. Ty Lawson, who missed the last four games with a shoulder injury, added 27 points and J.J. Hickson had 17 points and 12 rebounds. DeAndre Jordan had 19 points and 12 rebounds. It was his team record 28th consecutive game with at least 10 rebounds. Jamal Crawford added 19 points for the Clippers, who fell to 0-11 on the road when trailing after the third quarter. No more than five points separated the teams in the third quarter with the Nuggets taking an 82-81 lead into the fourth quarter when Quincy Miller stole the ball from Crawford and swept down the court for a layup, beating the buzzer. With 3:37 left, Griffin made two free throws to put the Clippers up 107-101 but the Nuggets scored eight straight points, getting six on free throws, and went in front by two. The Clippers answered, regaining the lead on a fast-break dunk by Griffin 111-109. Two free throws by Lawson re-tied it at 111-all with 1:21 left. Griffin made one of two from the line and Wilson Chandler made a pair and the Nuggets led 113-112 with 50.7 seconds remaining. Both the Clippers Crawford and the Nuggets Lawson missed jumpers before Matt Barnes connected on a go-ahead 3-pointer with 6.2 seconds remaining. But after a timeout, the Nuggets worked the ball to Foye who heaved a 3-pointer for the winner. Though the Clippers led by as many as 13 points early on, the teams battled to a 60-all tie at the half. Barnes and Darren Collison finished consecutive fastbreaks with layups to give the Clippers a 55-46 lead with 2:46 left in the second quarter. Chandler answered with a 3-pointer that was offset by a three-point play by Griffin, who then drew a foul, his third, while guarding Foye. Griffin spent the final couple minutes of the second quarter on the bench, during which the Nuggets closed with an 11-2 burst, including a jumper by Lawson with 29.7 seconds remaining that evened the score at the half. (Sports Network) - Rockies manager Jim Tracy believes that great things could be in store for starter Jhoulys Chacin once he develops consistent command of his fastball. After facing the Venezuelan earlier this year, the Cubs have to be wondering what command issues Tracy is referring to. Chacin will try to record his fourth straight winning decision this afternoon as Chicago hosts Colorado in a makeup game from an April postponement at Wrigley Field. The 23-year-old Chacin is 3-0 in four starts this month, yielding just three runs over 26 2/3 innings. He was denied a fourth straight winning start on Tuesday at Cleveland, though, giving up a run on two hits and a career high- tying six walks that pushed his pitch count to a season-high 115 pitches. While Chacin got a no-decision, the Cubs recorded a 4-3 win. He did a phenomenal job with the exception of hitting a couple of speed bumps, command-wise, manager Jim Tracy told Colorados website. He walked the bases loaded and had another inning where he walked two guys. Were talking 40 pitches. He couldve potentially pitched us right on through to the ninth inning. Chacin, 8-4 with a 2.71 earned run average in 15 starts this year, had little problem with his command when he faced the Cubs back on April 15. The right- hander recorded the first shutout of his career, a six-hitter that also featured a pair of walks and seven strikeouts. He improved to 1-1 with a 2.16 ERA in three games (two starts) against the Cubs. Matt Garza saw first hand how effective Chacin can be and hell try to get the better of the hurler today. Garza was on the losing end of Chacins shutout, giving up five runs over six innings. He has dropped both of his starts to the Rockies this season, falling to 0-3 with a 5.29 ERA against them lifetime in three starts. Garza is 1-2 with a 5.14 ERA in four starts this month, but was in the midst of an effective outing versus the White Sox last Tuesday before rain ended his outing after five innings. The right-hander was charged with two runs on four hits in a no-decision after giving up five runs over six innings in his previous outing versus Milwaukee.dddddddddddd The 27-year-old is 3-6 with a 4.11 ERA in 13 starts this season. Garza and the Cubs should be glad that they are back to National League action today as their 6-3 setback to the Royals marked their seventh consecutive interleague series defeat. The setback was also Chicagos sixth in its last eight games overall, but after this makeup game it will host the San Francisco Giants for four games, including a day-night doubleheader on Tuesday. Starter Randy Wells gave up five hits to open the game and four runs in the first inning overall to put the Cubs in a hole. Wells lasted six-plus frames and yielded a total of six runs and 10 hits. The only bad pitch I really threw in that whole first inning was to [Kansas Citys Billy] Butler, said Wells. That was the only one that was up there. The other ones they went down and got and put it in play. Its pretty much the way that inning goes. Geovany Soto belted his second home run in as many games and added an RBI double as part of a three-hit game that lifted his average 13 points to .225. Soto would love to get on the type of run Colorados Ty Wigginton is on. Wigginton belted a pair of solo homers in Sundays 6-4 loss to the Yankees, giving him five home runs and eight RBI over his past four games. Ive been feeling good at the plate right now, Wigginton said. I think Ive done a good job with staying with my approach. Chris Iannetta also went deep versus the Yankees, but the Rockies lost for the third time in four games. Starter Juan Nicasio retired the first 13 batters he faced, but gave up a pair of homers in the fifth inning to open the floodgates and ended up allowing four runs on four hits over five-plus innings of work. Colorado took the first two games of its original three-game series with the Cubs in late April before the finale was postponed. The Rockies have won seven of the past eight meetings in this matchup overall. [url=http://www.cheapjerseyschina.cc/]cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys ' ' '
