St. Petersburg, FL (Sports Network) - Tampa Bay has now beaten every current major league team. Evan Longoria homered off Logan Ondrusek to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning, propelling the Rays to a 4-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds in the middle test of a three-game series at Tropicana Field. Cincinnatis Jay Bruce had blasted a game-tying homer off Tampa Bays Kyle Farnsworth to begin the top of the ninth. The Rays picked up their first win in eight games vs. Cincinnati, the lone team they previously didnt have a win against. Despite blowing his second save of the season, Farnsworth (3-1) earned the win after Longoria deposited Ondruseks (3-3) second pitch into the left-field seats for his third career walk-off home run. Only one run was up on the board through the first seven innings, a solo shot to right field in the fourth off the bat of Tampa Bay designated hitter Johnny Damon. The Reds solved Tampa Bay starter David Price in the eighth, scoring twice to take the lead. Drew Stubbs led off with a triple and scored the tying run on a single by Edgar Renteria. Price struck out the next two batters, matching his career- high of 12, before Joey Votto ripped the left-handers 119th and final pitch into the left-field corner for an RBI double. Joel Peralta fanned Scott Rolen to end the inning and was in line for the win after a bloop double by Damon put the Rays up 3-2 in the home half of the eighth. Price couldnt get a decision despite piling up 12 strikeouts, tying a career- high. Its frustrating, but we won, Price said of not getting a win under his belt. Thats the good thing. John Jaso and Sam Fuld hit consecutive singles off Cincinnati starter Johnny Cueto, who was replaced by Bill Bray after Reid Brignac flied to left for the second out. Damon then hit a popup and Reds left fielder Chris Heisey nearly made an incredible diving grab, but to no avail, as both runners crossed the plate. The teams were all even when Bruce drilled a 3-2 offering from Farnsworth to straightaway center. What an interesting game. Both starting pitchers were fabulous, both sides, Rays manager Joe Maddon said. Their guy was really impressive and so was ours. NHL vice president Colin Campbell told TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com that while the league was not pleased with the actions of forward Martin Hanzal and goaltender Mike Smith, as well as the comments of defenceman Keith Yandle and forward Shane Doan, he spoke to all four players and chose not to pursue the issue further. The Coyotes were incensed that Kings captain Dustin Brown was not penalized for a questionable hit on Coyotes defenceman Michal Rozsival in overtime just prior to the series-winning goal. Hanzal skated aggressively toward one of the officials and made a threatening gesture while Smith threw his stick in the direction of the officials. "I told Hanzal, The way you went at the official after the game physically, you didnt make contact, but that was disrespectful. Youre lucky you wereent suspended by the official for doing something like that.dddddddddddd Even though you didnt make contact I thought it was (of) a threatening nature," Campbell said to LeBrun. Yandle questioned the integrity of the officials, implying there was no coincidence the referees were wearing the same colours as the Kings while Doan expressed his thoughts to Brown during the post-game handshake. "I said to Yandle, I thought your comment about who was wearing what colour was wrong. Thats the integrity of the game and youre suggesting that because you didnt have an owner that you have no support? I said, Not a chance," Campbell added. "I said to Doan, Your comments after the game were not totally correct about the officiating and what you thought. I didnt hear anything after the Chicago series after (Marian) Hossa got hurt and a major wasnt applied. I didnt hear anything from the Chicago Blackhawks," said Campbell, who added that Doan was most apologetic during their meeting. cheap jerseys cheap nfl jerseys ' ' '
