Evan Longoria homered off Logan Ondrusek to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning, propelling the Rays to a 4-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds in the middle test of a three-game series at Tropicana Field. Cincinnatis Jay Bruce had blasted a game-tying homer off Tampa Bays Kyle Farnsworth to begin the top of the ninth. The Rays picked up their first win in eight games vs. Cincinnati, the lone team they previously didnt have a win against. Despite blowing his second save of the season, Farnsworth (3-1) earned the win after Longoria deposited Ondruseks (3-3) second pitch into the left-field seats for his third career walk-off home run. Only one run was up on the board through the first seven innings, a solo shot to right field in the fourth off the bat of Tampa Bay designated hitter Johnny Damon.
