Beiber On The Front Page?
Letter to the editor, January 28, 2014
Justin Bieber's arrest for DUI, drugs, belligerence and stupidity is front page news [Jan. 24, "Beliebe The Frenzy"]? Really? Are you kidding me? I guess it was a really slow news day. The Courant can do better. Much better. Ken Sallak, Wallingford
ARTICLES BY DATERemove Komisarjevsky From Front Page
Letter to the editor, September 4, 2014
I am so weary of seeing Joshua Komisarjevsky's picture on the front page of The Courant [Sept. 3, Page 1, "Killer Says Police Withheld Evidence"]. The article describing the antics of this death row inmate is hardly front page news. The Courant can usually pride itself on the selection of news articles it presents, but not in this case. This news should be omitted, buried or put on the foreclosure page. Gloria Visgilio Lupi, East Hartford
LETTER: Letting Gun Criminal Off Easy
February 6, 2013
Wonder why gun laws don't work? See "Man Sentenced To 3 Years In Shooting" on Page B4 Tuesday [Feb. 5]. After shooting another person, seven times, he gets a 10 year sentence, suspended after three. Then what, take another year or so off for good behavior? The [url=http://www.fashionshoes.us.com/blue-suede-balota-140mm-replica.html]Blue Suede Balota 140mm bottom line is money. Put criminals where they belong, in prison. I bet if the man in this article had used an assault rifle, this would have been front page news not an article stuffed in the back. Letter to the editor, September 3, 2014
I can't see why the article on the front page Monday about some left wing Torrington folks plugging Elizabeth Warren's candidacy for president was warranted [Sept. 1, Blac... Glitter Balota 160mm "Warren Gets A Helpful Push"]. Is this all The Courant can do on a very slow news day? Isn't there anything else, just anything, that would be more interesting and worthwhile to print on the front page? Simply that desperate for a story? Sad. Louise M. Pierfedeici, Avon

It's another sad, sick day in our society. To see that a waste of oxygen such as Justin Bieber makes front page news [Jan. 24, "Beliebe The Frenzy"], while Page 4 has 2 square inches reporting that Michigan Gov. Rich Snyder seeking 50,000 immigrants to live and work in Detroit ["Michigan Seeks Visas For Skilled Immigrants"]. At a time when there must be many times that number of our own skilled craftspeople out of work, this is truly amazing. Robert Godwin, PortlandLETTER: Doesn't See Gay Athlete As A Big Story

According to The Courant's front page, Jason Collins, a pro basketball player, says he is gay. My question is, so what? That's front page news? North Korea, Syria, unemployment, hunger, taxes, Iran and Iraq and terroism and a million other more important issues, and a gay athlete is the lead story? You guys on drugs there in Hartford? Are you people serious? Mark J. Czaja, MiddletownRemove Komisarjevsky From Front Page
