(Sports Network) - Aaron Harang makes his San Diego debut when the Padres open the home portion of their schedule with a two-game set against the defending world champion San Francisco Giants this evening at Petco Park. Opening Day at home is always a special day, Padres manager Bud Black said. Going back and seeing a packed house and seeing the fans who were so great last year [is special]. A San Diego native, Harang spent parts of the last eight seasons in Cincinnati and went 6-7 with a 5.32 earned run average in 22 games (20 starts) last year. He was slowed by lower back spasms that caused him to miss a portion of the season on the disabled list. Harang has struggled after posting back-to-back 16 win campaigns from 2006-07, as he has won just six games in each season since while losing 17 and 14 games, respectively, in the two years before last years injury-plagued season. The Padres were denied their first season-opening three-game sweep since their inaugural campaign in 1969 on Sunday, as St. Louis Jaime Garcia stymied them in a 2-0 shutout. Jason Bartlett, Orlando Hudson and Nick Hundley had one hit apiece for the Padres, while Dustin Moseley (0-1) was the hard-luck loser after giving up only an unearned run on four hits and one walk in seven innings. We saw him last year. We know how good he is, Hudson said about Garcia. Hes got great stuff. Great command of his cutter, changeup. Got a good sinking fastball, curve ball. He had great command of his pitches. San Francisco, meanwhile, kicked off its season by losing three of four to the Los Angeles Dodgers, culminating with a 7-5 loss Sunday at Chavez Ravine. Giants starter Barry Zito allowed just three runs and three hits -- all in the first inning -- but left after six frames in a no-decision. He walked two and struck out five. Dan Runzler (0-1) gave up four runs in the seventh and was charged with the loss. Barry made some mistakes in the first, but give him a lot of credit, he kept us in the game, said Giants manager Bruce Bochy. It was a loss, but our guys battled. Aaron Rowand, Pablo Sandoval and Pat Burrell all belted solo homers for the Giants in defeat. Heading to the hill for San Francisco tonight will be lefty Madison Bumgarner, who was 7-6 with a 3.00 ERA in 18 starts last season. The second-year hurler, though, posted a team-high 5.93 ERA this spring while tying for a club-best in working 27 1/3 innings. Bumgarner is 0-1 with a 2.11 ERA in four games (three starts) against the Padres. San Diego got the better of its series with the Giants last season, winning 12 of the 18 matchups. However, the Padres were just 5-4 in the series at home a year ago. Nike Roshe Run Uomo. Serge Ibaka of the Thunder and Matt Barnes of the Clippers were ejected, and Griffin received a technical foul for his part in the altercation with 6 seconds left in the second quarter. Kevin Durant had 33 points, making 15 of 17 free throws, and 10 assists to lead the Thunder, who had won four straight. Nike Roshe Run Scontate. Mathias Niederberger made 36 saves in Game 4 as Barrie doubled up Oshawa 4-2 to sweep the best-of-seven second-round matchup. The 20-year-old goaltender was steady for the Colts all series, but was at his best on the road in Games 3 and 4 as he turned away 71-of-73 combine shots. http://www.itscarpesaldi.com/nike-blazer-uomo.html. Oilers head coach Ralph Krueger announced the news on Wednesday after the team practiced in Edmonton. Petrell has three goals and six assists in 35 games this season. Nike Air Max 95 Italia. -- Jason Kendall wont be behind the plate for the Kansas City Royals season opener, though he might be by mid-April. North Carolina underclassmen Harrison Barnes, John Henson and Kendall Marshall will enter the NBA draft, the school said Thursday. The school didnt state whether the three planned to hire an agent in its release announcing the departures, though it appears the three are in the draft to stay. "Its a great day for three youngsters who are taking another step toward their ultimate goal of playing professional basketball," coach Roy Williams said in a statement. "On a very small stage, its a sad day for me because I wont get to coach them again. All Tar Heel fans will miss them greatly, as well." Barnes, a 6-foot-8 sophomore, averaged about 17 points to lead the team. Henson, a 6-11 junior, averaged about 14 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. Both Barnes and Henson put off entering the NBA draft last spring for another shot at a national championship despite being likely first-round picks. But the preseason No. 1 Tar Heels (32-6) fell in an NCAA regional final for the second straight season amid a dizzying run of injuries, including wrist injuries to both Henson and Marshall. &qquot;I wish wed have been able to bring our fans a national championship, but it wasnt meant to be," Henson said in a statement.dddddddddddd "I am proud of what we accomplished, especially the last two years." Both Barnes and Henson said in their statements they planned to continue working to complete their undergraduate degrees. Marshall, a 6-4 sophomore, won the Cousy Award presented to the nations top college point guard earlier Thursday. Marshall set the Atlantic Coast Conferences single-season assists record. He missed the last two NCAA tournament games after breaking his right wrist. Marshall, a pass-first point guard, had upped his scoring late in the year and reached double-figures in his last six games to improve his draft prospects. "Its been the greatest two years of my life," Marshall said in a statement. "I have always put the team before myself and I am extremely proud of what weve accomplished. My lifelong dream has been to play basketball at the highest level possible and I feel now is my greatest opportunity to fulfil this goal." cheap jerseys Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '
