Id Kah Mosque is a magnificent mosque situated on Jiefang Road in downtown Kashgar, Xinjiang, China tours. The Mosque is the largest of its kind in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and is also the center for the Islamic activities of the entire Xinjiang region. Id Kah Mosque is well known all over the world for its long history, grand structure, and splendid national features. Every Friday, it houses nearly 10,000 worshippers and can accommodate up to 20,000 on special occasions.

"Id Kah " means festival worship and assembling place in the local dialect, which explains the name for the square outside the mosque, Id Kah Square of Silk Road travel. The square is ideal for a leisurely walk, doing small business, and traveling. On important occasions, such as the Coban Festival, the square is filled with enthusiastic Muslims who bit drums and play suona horn to celebrate their own festivals. Usually, all of the Muslims in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region come to this sacred place on one day. They get together at the square, in front of the mosque, dance and play all night. The unprecedented scene is a quite unique, and attracts many visitors.

Every day, believers come here to pray. Commonly, there are 2-3 thousands visitors and on Friday there are around 10 thousand. Tourists are allowed to come in but they should pay attention at their clothes. Hands and feet must be hidden by clothes; women are suggested to cover their heads.
