Champaign native graduating Womens Von Miller Jersey ballet on way to dream

Thirty five hours a week, Kate Hosier keeps on her toes. They develop blisters. Her blisters turn into calluses. Her toenails turn shades of black and blue. It's a pain, but for Hosier, that pain is well worth it.

In June, Champaign native Hosier, 18, will Aut... Demaryius Thomas Jersey graduate from the National Ballet School of Canada, a boarding school that allows kids the opportunity to earn a high school diploma while training to become a professional dancer.

"My ultimate goal is to dance in a ballet company as my career, that's what I'm training for," Hosier said. "Next year I'm dancing with the National Ballet of Canada as an apprentice, and (I'll) just go from there."

Hosier has always had a love for ballet, and the passion to achieve her goals.

"From the time she was about 6, when she saw Michael Jackson dance, that was it for her," said Connie Hosier, Kate's mother. "She was obsessed with becoming a dancer."

Kate's obsession led her Dem... Thomas Jersey to audition for the National Ballet School of Canada, where she was the only 10th grader to be accepted.

"We didn't know what we were getting into," Connie Hosier said. "It's really a different world, they dance six days a week and then they take Sunday off. Their whole world is wrapped up in dancing."

Hosier definitely puts in the work and it shows.

"I actually get made fun of because I have really unattractive feet, and a lot of dancers do," Hosier said. "Wearing point shoes totally rips up your feet."

Ballet requires great balance and grace, qualities that Hosier is constantly perfecting.

"Actual physically dancing takes up about four to five hours a day," Hosier said. "(I) have academics from 8:30 to 2:15 and then have ballet class until 4:30 and then there are after school classes such as point class or modern (dance), or rehearsal for an upcoming performance."

The hours are long, but Hosier's love for ballet keeps her going.

"From day one she was such a hard worker," said Deanna Doty, the artistic director of Champaign Urbana Ballet. "She is focused and yet she has a dramatic sense about her, which is what you need to be a dancer."

Hosier's ability to focus on dance and her eagerness to improve have allowed her to reach for her goals.

"In spite of being so driven and focused, she's got a great personality," Doty said. "She doesn't take herself too seriously, but at the same time she knows how to get the job done. She's just somebody who knows where she's going."

Now Hosier has taken the next step toward becoming a professional ballerina. She was one of three dancers invited from her school to apprentice for the National Ballet.

"She'll actually earn a living and be on her own next year," Connie Hosier said.

Although Hosier doesn't get to experience an average teenage life, she feels what she's working toward is greater. "The people in my classes have become a second family to me because we're so similar in what our goals are, and we relate to each other on such a deeper level," Hosier said.

Hosier's parents said they only hope for their daughter's happiness.

"I want her to be Ryan Clady Jersey where she thinks she can do the best and her goal is to move up the line, which usually takes five to seven years to be a soloist," Connie Hosier said. "I know that's what she wants. It's a hard road and it's a long road."

"The dance Authentic Ryan Clady Jersey world is a very difficult place to have a career because it's really competitive," Hosier said. "You're constantly being scrutinized by everyone around you and you have to be a strong person and Authentic Von Miller Jersey just work as hard as you possibly can, but if you truly love it, in the end all your hard work will pay off."
