KOSICE, Slovakia -- Patrik Berglund scored twice to help Sweden wrap up the group stage of the world hockey championship with a 6-2 victory over the United States Wednesday. In Bratislava, Milan Michalek and Jaromir Jagr scored to lead the Czech Republic 2-1 over Finland to complete the group stage with a perfect record in Group D. Sweden topped Group C with seven points, one more than the United States. "I think, we had a good game overall, it was a good team effort," said Berglund, who plays for the St. Louis Blues. Swedish goalie Viktor Fasth stopped 30 shots. Berglund beat goalie Al Montoya with a slap shot in the first period, but the United States answered with Cam Fowlers tying goal on a power play. Marcus Kruger capitalized on Montoyas blunder behind his goal to put the Swedes ahead 3:17 into the second period before Mattias Sjorgen stretched the lead and Berglund added his second on a rebound into the second period for his fourth tournament. "We created a lot of our own troubles tonight," U.S. captain Mark Stuart said. "We turned over the puck too much, couple turnovers led to goals. We put ourselves in a hole and we couldnt get out of it. "Were going to learn to play for 60 minutes. We havent played 60 minutes yet the whole tournament, thats one thing we need to work on." The U.S. had to rally in the last period to beat Norway 4-2 in the previous game on Monday. Blake Wheeler only managed to reduce the lead with a backhand shot midway through the third but Jimmie Ericsson and David Petrasek added two more for the Swedes, who seemed to find form after an upset loss to Norway and a hard-fought victory over underdog Austria. "We havent been satisfied with our game against Norway and Austria," Petrasek said. "We really needed this. We scored six goals, its good for our confidence." Swedish coach Par Marts was delighted that Sweden, a European power, finally delivered at the tournament. "Im really happy, we played a very good game today," Marts said. "It was for real this time, we played very good defence and put pressure on the U.S." U.S. coach Scott Gordon gave credit to the Swedish team. "We generated some quality chances," Gordon said. "But the biggest thing for me were the opportunities we gave them. They played better than us and deserved the three points." Still, it was a better start to the tournament for the United States than last year when the team lost its all three group stage games at last years worlds and had to fight against relegation. The U.S. faces Canada next on Friday while Sweden faces France. "They play a pretty similar style," Stuart said. "An extremely tough opponent but its always fun to play Canada." Norway and Denmark advanced to the second round of the ice hockey world championship by winning their last group stage matches on Wednesday. Anders Bastiansen scored a goal and added three assists to help Norway rout Austria 5-0 in Group C, and Denmark prevailed 3-2 in a penalty shootout over Latvia for its first victory in Group D. Austria and Latvia will join Slovenia and Belarus to play a relegation round. Womens Larry Fitzgerald Jersey . After winning 19 games and finishing second in American League Cy Young Award voting last season, Price struggled this season to a 12-13 mark to go along with a 3.49 earned run average. James scored 28 points, Wade added 21, and they led a furious rally in the final minutes as Miami eliminated Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls 83-80 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals on Thursday.MIAMI -- The gaudy sculpture in left field swung into motion and lit up like a carnival ride as Miami Marlins fans cheered the rare spectacle. Home run, home team. Adeiny Hechavarria ended a pair of home run droughts with a three-run shot that helped Miami beat the Washington Nationals 8-2 Tuesday night. "I was beginning to think that the home run sculpture out there wasnt plugged in," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. "Im glad that its working." The offensively challenged Marlins (3-11) began the game with the worst record in the majors, but broke out of a batting slump in the fourth inning with four runs, more than they had scored in all but one game. Hechavarrias homer was the Marlins first at home this season, and it ended a nine-game home run drought that had tied the 20-year-old franchise record. "When I hit the ball, I knew it was out of the ballpark," Hechavarria said. "It was a great feeling." A throwing error by Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman -- his fourth in five games -- preceded the homer and led to four unearned runs. Miamis Justin Ruggiano had two hits and three RBIs, Greg Dobbs contributed a bases-loaded walk and a run-scoring single, and Juan Pierre totalled three hits and hiked his average to .222. Redmond said the homer provided the kick-start the Marlins needed. "Weve been waiting for a big hit for a while," he said. "We knew it was going to come. We didnt know who it was going to come from. "It was big for everybody. I think for everybody, it was like, All right, here we go -- a nice sigh and a little bit of relief." Alex Sanabia (2-1) allowed two runs in six innings, and two relievers completed an eight-hitter. The Nationals had been 4-0 against the Marlins this season, outscoring them 21-4. "Nice to beat those guys," Redmond said. "Theyve kind of had their way with us so far this year. Nice to put a big number on them." Dan Haren (1-2) gave up seven runs, three earned, in 4 1-3 innings. He retired nine in a row before Zimmermans error. "Up to that point I was rolling, but I have to pick the guy up," Haren said. "Thats part of baseball. They pick me up, I pick them up. Im sure he feels bad about the home run, but I have to bbe able to pick him up.ddddddddddddquot; As a tribute to victims of the Boston Marathon bombings, the crowd of 16,200 sang along to "Sweet Caroline" before the bottom of the eighth inning. The song has been featured at Red Sox home games since 2002. Both teams were short-handed, and the Nationals played without three regulars. Bryce Harper and Denard Span sat out with flu-like symptoms, and second baseman Danny Espinosa remained sidelined by a bruised right hand. Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton sat out for the fifth consecutive game because of a bruised left shoulder. He took batting practice and said he felt better, and might rejoin the lineup Wednesday. Redmond tweaked the Miami lineup, and Chris Coghlan batted leadoff for the first time since 2011, with Pierre dropped to second in the order. The Marlins responded with a season-high run total and 11 hits. The Marlins had help. The game was scoreless in the fourth when Placido Polanco reached with one out on the latest wild throw by Zimmerman, who underwent right shoulder surgery last off-season. "The shoulder feels great," Zimmerman said. "Thats why its so frustrating. Its just a matter of me sticking with it and not mentally getting frustrated." Following the error, singles by Dobbs and Ruggiano scored the first run. Hechavarria, who turned 24 Tuesday, hit a two-out homer. "I would prefer it happened Monday," he said with a smile, "but Ill take it." The rookie shortstop finished 1 for 4, hiking his average to .184. The homer was his first and the teams third. Washington scored twice in the sixth on doubles by Adam LaRoche, Tyler Moore and Steve Lombardozzi.
