SAN FRANCISCO -- After going four straight games without holding even a single lead, the San Francisco Giants were hoping for a big performance from Madison Bumgarner. He delivered with his arm and bat. Bumgarner shut down Milwaukee for seven innings and added an RBI double to win his eighth straight home start, helping the Giants snap a four-game losing streak with a 5-2 victory over the Brewers on Saturday. "He gave us what we needed," manager Bruce Bochy said. "When you have a losing streak like this, you need someone to go out there and have a game like he did. He has a lot of confidence going right now." Buster Posey and Brett Pill added RBI hits in a three-run sixth inning against Randy Wolf to give Bumgarner (5-1) all the support he needed as the Giants ended a season-worst losing streak. The Brewers got NL MVP Ryan Braun back in the lineup after he missed Fridays series opener with a sore right Achilles and he hit a solo homer in the eighth inning. But Milwaukee lost shortstop Alex Gonzalez to what appears to be a serious right knee injury earlier in the game in the latest stroke of bad luck to hit the team this week. "We have to keep playing and get through these tough injuries," manager Ron Roenicke said. "We still have a good club. Randy did a nice job today until the last inning when they got to him but I thought he threw the ball well. We faced a tough pitcher today and scrapped out a couple." The Giants had not led a game at any point during their recent skid and struggled early against Wolf (2-3), putting just one runner in scoring position in the first four innings. Bumgarner finally helped them break through in the fifth inning after Hector Sanchez led off the inning with a double. Bumgarner then tied the game at 1 when he lined a one-out double into the left-field corner. "That kind of got us out of the little funk we were in," Bumgarner said. "We tacked a couple more on. That was nice." San Francisco broke it open with three runs in the sixth. Melky Cabrera started the rally by tripling for the second straight day and Posey followed with a single through a drawn-in infield. Pill then doubled into right-centre with Posey scoring when Norichika Aoki took a bad angle on the ball. Pill later scored on Conor Gillaspies groundout to make it 4-1. Bumgarner left after a scoreless seventh, allowing one run and six hits to lower his home ERA to 1.00 during his current winning streak. "He was on today," Giants centre fielder Angel Pagan said. "Hes the kind of guy I dont want to face. Hes very tough. When hes on the mound every time, hes like a lion, hes ready to compete and win a ballgame." Guillermo Mota allowed Brauns eighth homer in the eighth before Sanchez added an RBI double in the bottom half for San Francisco. Santiago Casilla closed for his fifth save in as many chances. The Brewers have had a stretch of injuries this week, starting on Tuesday in San Diego when they lost first baseman Mat Gamel to a torn ACL in his right knee. Braun left early the next day and missed Fridays series opener against the Giants. Outfielder Carlos Gomez went down in that game with a strained left hamstring and will be placed on the disabled list with Gonzalez on Sunday. Milwaukee will call up infielders Taylor Green and Edwin Maysonet to take their places. Gonzalez drove in Aramis Ramirez with the first run of the game on an RBI single off Bumgarner but got hurt later in the second when he stole second base. Gonzalezs leg buckled as he slid into second and he immediately called for a trainer. He was helped off the field and will have an MRI on Monday in Milwaukee. "Its bad, man," he said. "Its kind of sad for me. I was playing every day, I was playing hard and playing pretty good. But you cant control that type of injury. If its going to happen, it happens." After the Giants tied the game in the fifth inning, the Brewers missed a golden chance to regain the lead in the sixth. Ramirez reached on a two-base error by Pagan to lead off the inning. No. 5 hitter Corey Hart sacrificed Ramirez to third base, but Cesar Izturis and Brooks Conrad followed with shallow fly balls to right field, keeping the score tied at 1. Notes: A female fan ran across the entire outfield in the ninth inning before being apprehended by security after she jumped back into the stands in right field. ... Pagan reached on an infield single in the third to extend his hitting streak to 19 games. ... Matt Cain looks to snap a two-game losing streak when he starts the series finale for San Francisco against Shawn Marcum. Nike Roshe One Slip Sale . Batum and agent Bouna Ndiaye met with Blazers officials Thursday and informed them that the versatile swingman feels his best fit is in Minnesota. Ndiaye declined to give the terms of the agreement, but a person with knowledge of the deal said it was for four years and $45 million, with bonuses that could push it past $50 million. The person requested anonymity because the deal hasnt been completed. The Blazers have been adamant that they will match any offer for Batum and were not interested in trading the 23-year-old native Frenchman. Ndiaye said Batum has great respect for the Blazers and their fans, but believes playing for Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman and alongside point guard Ricky Rubio and forward Kevin Love was the best situation for him. "It was a very cordial meeting. There were no hard feelings," Ndiaye said. "So Nicolas basically talked about his four years with the Blazeers and he expressed that maybe it was time for him to look at a place where it could be more happy.dddddddddddd" The offer cannot be signed until the moratorium ends July 11. Batum has averaged 10.2 points and 3.9 rebounds over four seasons with Portland, part of the reason the Blazers see him as such a valuable piece moving forward. "We appreciated the face-to-face meeting to get our message across," Blazers general manager Neil Olshey told The Oregonian. "And that message was that we intend to match any offer and we will not facilitate any sign-and-trade scenarios." Batum visited Minnesota this week and met with owner Glen Taylor, team president David Kahn and Adelman and was sold on the franchises direction and the Twin Cities. Ndiaye said Batum is hoping the Blazers will do for him what the Suns did for Steve Nash and grant his request to move on to a place where he can be happy and competitive. "Nicolas said I really respect the Blazers organization, the Blazers fans," Ndiaye said. "He even mentioned he really loved to be coached by (former assistant) Monty Williams, who was a mentor. But his choice, his heart went to Minneapolis." cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys ' ' '
