It appears George Cortez is still in the running to become the next head coach of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. According to TSN Radio 1290 host Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press, the Saskatchewan Roughriders offensive coordinator is scheduled for a second interview for the position. Earlier reports had Roughriders quarterbacks coach Khari Jones listed as the favourite to get the job. The Blue Bombers also reportedly asked for pemission to speak with Toronto Argonauts special teams co-ordinator Mike OShea. He became the Braves manager again in 1990 and stayed through 2010, leading Atlanta to 14 straight division titles and a World Series championship in 1995.
