New York, NY - Alabama and Florida State remained the top two teams in the latest Associated Press college football poll, but Baylor and Ohio State swapped places as the four are still the lone remaining unbeatens in the power conferences. Alabama, coming off a 20-7 win at Mississippi State on Saturday, held on to its firm grasp atop the poll. The Crimson Tide received 55 first-place votes and a total of 1,495 points from a nationwide media panel. Florida State, after its second straight 59-3 victory in as many weeks, kept the second spot and picked up two additional first-place votes. The Seminoles, who will close the regular season with a visit from Idaho and a trip to Florida, earned five No. 1 tallies and 1,445 total points. Baylor moved up one spot to third, while Ohio State dipped one place to fourth. Both had easy victories on Saturday, as the Bears continued to pile up the points in a 63-34 victory over Texas Tech and the Buckeyes pummeled Illinois, 60-35. Oregon inched up one spot to fifth and again controls its own destiny for a berth in the Pac-12 title game after Stanfords loss to USC on Saturday. The Ducks are followed by Auburn, Clemson, Missouri, Texas A&M and Stanford. The Cardinal couldnt build off the victory against Oregon and dropped a 20-17 decision at Southern California, tumbling five spots from No. 5. The second 10 consists of Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Michigan State, UCLA, Fresno State, Wisconsin, UCF, LSU, Arizona State and Northern Illinois. Fresno State and Northern Illinois are also undefeated. UCF dropped two spots from 15th after a narrow escape at Temple on Saturday. Louisville, Oklahoma, USC, Ole Miss and Duke are the last five teams ranked. USC, Ole Miss and Duke are this weeks newcomers. The resurgent Trojans, under interim coach Ed Orgeron, havent been ranked since the first poll of the regular season, while the Rebels were ranked for four weeks in September. Duke, meanwhile, is ranked for the first time since the final poll of the 1994 season. The Blue Devils, after a 48-30 win over then-No. 24 Miami-Florida on Saturday, are in control of their own destiny in the ACC Coastal Division. Miami, ranked No. 7 just three weeks ago, fell out of the poll after its third straight loss. Texas and Georgia also dropped out. The Longhorns were 23rd and fell to Oklahoma State, while the Bulldogs were No. 25 and lost a heartbreaker at Auburn on a 73-yard deflected touchdown pass on 4th-and-18 in the final minute. Next weeks schedule features four ranked matchups, including a huge Pac-12 South showdown between Arizona State and UCLA at the Rose Bowl. Missouri, which needs two wins to capture the SEC East and a berth in the conference title game, starts its quest at Ole Miss, and LSU hosts Texas A&M. Also, Baylor visits Oklahoma State with first place in the Big 12 on the line. adidas zx flux baratas .R. Laudrup revealed Thursday he was notified of his dismissal in "the briefest of letters which gave no reasons why such hasty and final action was deemed necessary.PEORIA, Ariz. -- Robinson Cano balanced on one leg and stretched his arm, keeping in unison with the rest of the Seattle Mariners during their pre-workout stretch. Click, click, click. Fans wearing his No. 22 focused their smartphones and snapped shots. Photographers lenses followed him across the field from drill to drill. The second baseman drew a crowd and was the centre of attention for his first workout with the Mariners on Tuesday. The former New York Yankee might as well get used to it. "Even more fun than what I thought," Cano said afterward. "Being embraced by teammates, coaching staff, the manager, the front office -- I feel like Im part of this team right away. Not going to take long to get used to this uniform." Seattle fans have already warmed to him. Approximately 200 fans showed up at Seattles spring training complex to watch the franchises new cornerstone do some stretching, some throwing and some fielding on a hot, sunny morning. Cano got a 10-year, $240 million deal to be the centerpiece of Seattles rebuilding. On his first day, the fans followed him from field to field. "Theres a lot more people than previous years," said Matt Massot, 18, of Seattle, who wore a Cano shirt to his fourth spring training. "When you add Robinson Cano, it cant get any more exciting." Seattle fans are celebrating their Super Bowl championship and hoping that Canos signing gets their baseball team turned around, too. The Mariners lost 101 games in 2008 and again in 2010. They went 71-91 last season with a young roster that finished 25 games behind Oakland in the AL West. First-year manager Lloyd McClendon is trying to raise expectations in the clubhouse, which is one area where having Cano will definitely help. Cano chose Seattle over the Yankees, who are accustomed to high expectations. "One of the messages that Im trying to send to my players is we dont have to take a backseat to anybody, and that includes the New York Yankees or anybody else,," McClendon said.dddddddddddd Cano sidestepped a question about how long it will take the Mariners to become a championship contender. "I dont want to say we are close, but I know weve got a team that can go out there and compete," Cano said. "Weve got some good, young talent. I dont want to say were going to be in first place, second place, last place. "I want to show these young guys all the things I learned in New York, the experiences I have, and what it takes to make it to the playoffs and win a championship." Of course, Mariners fans know firsthand that one high-profile player cant turn a team into a winner. Seattle traded Ken Griffey Jr. -- the face of the franchise -- to the Cincinnati Reds before the 2000 season. Griffey got a nine-year, $116.5 million deal from his hometown team, which failed to reach the playoffs while he was part of it. "That was pretty bleak in Seattle," said Steve Tennyson, a retired teacher from Rochester, Wash., who was selling souvenirs at the spring training complex for the ninth year. "A lot of people still hold a grudge. They have a tough time getting over losing your icon." Tennyson stood next to a table of souvenirs that featured shirts with Canos number. Asked his reaction when he heard that Cano had chosen to play for the Mariners, Tennyson pumped his right fist. "Yes!" he said. "They need an impact player. This will attract quality players. It may take a while." Cano brought some star power to the first day of full-squad workouts. After doing a group interview in part of a room thats used for the team cafeteria, Cano stepped into a hallway that links the clubhouse and fields. A few television cameras followed, leading to another impromptu interview. Several of his new teammates were heading to the fields carrying their bats. Instead of squeezing around the cameras, they stopped and watched for a few minutes, careful not to interrupt the interview. It was Canos moment.
