"With Colin, his first couple of starts, you did not know what to expect because we had not seen him out there as a starting quarterback. He did amazing and he has all season, as well as the playoffs. I think it was one of those things where we saw him in practice and we just wanted to see how he was going to handle the situation in the games. He has done that." Still, hes new to this environment and that hardly seems to faze Kaepernick. And, if I can offer any help, offer any sort of inspiration to anybody, its something that Im quite passionate about doing -- possibly when Im finished playing football -- because I know from experience, being with other footballers for the past 18 years, people do suffer from time to time." Often the symptoms are diverse and can vary on an individual basis. "Depression, its just a word, but theres a lot of things ingrained into that," he said. "Thats just a word that is given to it, but you can suffer from a lot of things." OBrien credits strong support from his family with helping his through his troubles. Now, regardless of Thursdays result, he looks forward to continuing his career after getting through a very difficult period. "Its something that Ive dealt with," OBrien said.
