2013 schedule updated
The wait is over. Here the Redskins 2013 schedule, with Mike Jones take on each matchup. To weigh in on which games Phil Rizzuto Jersey Washington will win, head on over to The Predictor, and see if fellow fans see the same outcomes.
Mon. Sept. vs. Philadelphia Eagles
The Redskins' defense gets its first up close look at Chip Kelly's new system, which Eagles players are touting as an up tempo attack that will resemble "a track meet." Given that there will be little to no film of the wrinkles the first year head coach will implement, Washington could be up for a tall task. Who will be under center for the Eagles? Michael Vick or Nick Foles, who struggled against Washington as a rookie last season? Redskins offseason addition Darryl Tapp faces his former team.
Sun. Sept. at Green Bay Packers
In what should be a great quarterback duel, Robert Griffin III faces off with Aaron Rodgers, whom he most often says he tries to emulate. The Packers' defense will be without a long time contributor in the departed Charles Woodson, but the unit still boasts plenty of talent.
Sun. Sept. vs. Detroit Lions
The Redskins' defense likely will face another stiff challenge as Matt Stafford and offensive weapons Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush come to town. After a promising 2011 campaign, Detroit faltered last season and hopes the offseason addition of Bush helps it get back on track.
Sun. Sept. at Oakland Raiders
The Redskins head west in what is their furthest road trip of the season. Out is Carson Palmer, in is Matt Flynn. The seemingly forever rebuilding Raiders hope that they finally have gotten their quarterback, but after an offseason of roster purging, it remains to be seen what type of talent he has to work with.
For the second time in two three years, Washington receives its bye after playing four games. Last season, the team didn't get its bye until Week 10.
Sun. Oct. at Dallas Cowboys
In his first return to Texas, Griffin lit it up, passing for 304 yards and four touchdowns in a nationally televised game on Thanksgiving. Once again, he and the Redskins face the long time rivals on a national stage. What will this homecoming hold for Griffin?
Sun. Oct. vs. Chicago Bears
Washington welcomes the new look Bears and first year NFL head coach Marc Trestman, an offensive guru formerly of the CFL. Shanahan will coach against his former quarterback, Jay Cutler, for a second time in the regular season and third time overall counting last season's preseason meeting. It's a season of change for Chicago's defense, because for the first time since 2000, Brian Urlacher is no longer a member of the Bears' franchise.
Sun. Oct. at Denver Broncos
Mike Shanahan makes his return to the city where he won two Super Bowls. Trent Williams draws the tall task of holding at bay Kids Robinson Cano Jersey linebacker Von Miller while on the other side of the ball, DeAngelo Hall will have his hands full with Peyton Manning's new go to guy, Wes Welker.
Sun. Nov. vs. San Diego Chargers
First year head coach Mike McCoy and the Chargers come to town. Tasked with breathing life into an offense that ranked 31st in the league in yards gained, McCoy has a track record of success as a coordinator, and big armed quarterback, Phillip Rivers, to lead the way.
Thu. Nov. at Minnesota Vikings
Washington as a quick turnaround, traveling to play at Minnesota on Thursday night. London Fletcher and the defense will do their best to bottle up Adrian Peterson, who is coming off a 2,097 yard, 12 touchdown season. The Vikings, meanwhile, will try to avoid letting Griffin burn them for another 76 yard touchdown run.
Sun. Nov. at Philadelphia Eagles
In their first divisional rematch of the season, Washington plays at Lincoln Financial Field. Auth... Mickey Mantle Jersey It'll be interesting to see if the same Eagles quarterback that faced Washington in the first meeting still is the starter in the rematch, and if Kelly's first season is a display of success or struggle.
Mon. Nov. vs. San Francisco 49ers
The nation again will be watching. Colin Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III meet, representing what seems to be a changing of the guard. The dual threat quarterbacks will run their teams' versions of the zone read option/pistol attacks on Monday Night Football. Moving the ball against San Francisco's stingy defense will present a tall task for Washington. And the Redskins' revamped secondary will have [url=http://www.officialyankeesproshop.com/WOMENS-PHIL-RIZZUTO-JERSEY.html]offic... its hands full as it tries to hold Vernon Davis, Anquan Boldin and Michael Crabtree in check.
Sun. Dec. vs. New York Giants
Playing in prime time for a second consecutive week this time on Sunday night Griffin and his line prepare to face a revamped Giants defensive front. Gone is Osi Umenyiora, in is Cullen Jenkins. Justin Tuck said last year that he imagined Griffin would give him nightmares for years to come. What will the Giants' defense come up with to try to limit the second year QB?
