BAYAMON, Puerto Rico -- The Los Angeles Galaxy and the Puerto Rico Islanders played to a 0-0 draw in a CONCACAF Champions League match Wednesday. The tie left the Galaxy in the lead in Group 5 (2-0-1) play over Isidro Metapan. The Major League Soccer team will face El Salvadors Isidro Metapan (1-1), which is second, in its final group game on Oct. 25. The Galaxy were without marquee strikers David Beckham and Robbie Keane, neither of whom made the trip to Puerto Rico. Neither star played last month when the Galaxy beat the Islanders, of the North American Soccer League, 4-0 in their Aug. 29 CONCACAF match in California. Beckham has been sidelined nearly three weeks with a sprained ankle. The Galaxy and Islanders both had chances in the waning minutes, but couldnt find the back of the net. "We didnt do a good job with the chances we created," Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said. "But a point on the road is still good." Puerto Rico kept Galaxy goalkeeper Brian Perk busy down the stretch. "Their goalkeeper was busier. I think the clearer chances were for the Islanders tonight," Puerto Rico coach Adrian Whitbread said. "That says a lot against a team like the Galaxy." The Glazer family sold 8.3 million shares on the New York Stock Exchange in August with the aim of raising around $110 million. But Woodward said the listing -- after a failed attempt to float on the stock exchange in Asia -- is not a precursor to the club being sold outright by the Glazers, even though there have been recent approaches.
