Serious but stable condition for mauled handler

TIGER handler Dave Styles remains in a serious but stable condition following surgery late last night, Australia Zoo director Wes Mannion says.
The 33 year old Maroochydore man was bitten on the neck and shoulder by one of the zoo 11 tigers during a show on Tuesday afternoon.
Mr Mannion this afternoon said Mr Styles condition was constantly being assessed by the medical team at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

"The hospital staff are providing excellent care and support, along with Dave close family and Australia Zoo team mates who remain by his side at this time," Mr Mannion said.
The family have asked that the privacy of both Dave and cheap nfl jerseys his family be respected while he recovers in hospital.
Mr Mannion said Australia Zoo was touched by the messages of support, and will continue to provide updates via social media when possible.

Visitors streamed through the gates of the iconic Beerwah tourist attraction earlier today unphased by yesterday incident.
The only sign of the incident was the nation media waiting to hear the latest news on Mr Style condition.

Visitor from Texas in the USA, Mindy Gray, said she was a little anxious about heading to the tiger exhibit, but was still excited to be visiting the zoo.
"I am a little scared because of all the stories I heard, but I came anyway," she said.
" I come a long way to be at the zoo."
Medics told of "significant amount of blood" at mauling
DOCTORS and paramedics were told to brace for a "significant amount of blood" before heading to Australia Zoo to save Dave Styles life.
Staff at the Beerwah zoo have been praised for their quick actions when they dragged the 33 year old Maroochydore man to safety after he was mauled by an "overexcited" tiger.
RACQ CareFlight helicopter landed at Australia Zoo about 2.45pm after Mr Styles was bitten on the neck cheap jerseys and shoulder by a Sumatran tiger.
As a crowd of zoo visitors hovered near the enclosure during regular tiger play time, footage captured by a bystander showed the tiger lash out at Mr Styles and push him into a pool. About four other handlers quickly pulled Mr Styles away from the tiger, before rushing to his aid.
CareFlight doctor Andy Haggerty described the initial scene as chaotic and frantic. The crew of four assisted Mr Styles in an area away from public view.
"It was a chaotic and anxious scene. There were lots of Australia Zoo employees there who were looking after and comforting the gentleman," Dr Haggerty said.
"The gentleman was anxious and seriously and significantly unwell, but we took precautions to secure any potential complications from the injuries he had received.
