COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The guy they call "Big Hank" is taking a big, early jump to the next level. All-Big Ten defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins announced on Monday he will give up his senior season at Ohio State to make himself available for the 2013 NFL draft. "I will always be grateful for the family I have gained here at Ohio State," Hankins said in a release issued through the school. "My three years have provided amazing experiences for me, and they are years I will never forget or take for granted." Hankins, who said he plans to return to finish his degree, appeared in 38 games the past three years and started every game the past two seasons. He was fourth on the team in tackles in 2011 with 67, including 11 for minus yardage. This past season he was fifth in tackles with 55, including four tackles for a loss. "I have enjoyed coaching and getting to know Johnathan Hankins over the past year," Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said. "His hard work on and off the field has given him an opportunity to move on to the next level. The coaching staff and I wish him all the best." The 6-foot-3, 322-pound Hankins ends his Buckeyes career with 138 tackles, including 16.5 tackles for a loss and five quarterback sacks. The Buckeyes went 12-0 and won the Big Tens Leaders Division, but were barred from playing in a bowl game by violations committed under former coach Jim Tressel. Hankins thanked several staff people, including Meyer. He also thanked Tressel for recruiting him. [url=http://www.canadiensofficialteamshop.com/dickie-moore-red-jersey.html]http:... . Vekic will face another first-time finalist, Irina-Camelia Begu of Romania, who beat second-seeded Urszula Radwanska 6-3, 6-3. Radwanska was the last remaining seed in the tournament. But all eyes were on Vekic, a qualifier making her WTA main draw debut. She has seven straight wins, including three over top-100 players this week. With the semifinal win on Friday, the 183rd-ranked Vekic is projected to improve at least 50 spots. "Its quite hard to believe," Vekic said. "It feels like a dream, but its the reality and I am so happy." Serving was the difference on Friday, as 133rd-ranked Birnerova hit 10 double faults and Vekic nine aces. Vekic broke Birrnerova twice in the first and third sets. &quoot; She was a difficult player and did not give me any rhythm," Vekic said.dddddddddddd. "I lost my focus a bit in the second set. I didnt play my best tennis today, but it is important to win on days like these." In the other match, Radwanska, the younger sister of third-ranked Agnieszka, was no match for Begu. Begu, who also beat third-seeded Alize Cornet of France and eighth-seeded Galina Voskoboeva of Kazakhstan, will also play for her first WTA title on Saturday. Begu broke a tired-looking Radwanska three times in the first set and raced to 5-1 in the second. "I was really tired from yesterdays match and its hard to recover on hard courts, but today I ran for every ball and put it back forcing Urszula to commit mistakes," said Begu, the WTA newcomer of the year in 2011. "Im happy to make it to my first final and would not like to think about the final. I want to enjoy this moment and recover." ' ' '
