Italdesign will preview ‘DaVinci’ electric supercar concept

Italdesign hasn’t revealed much in the way of details on its Geneva car, or even a real photo. To get more news about davincitech, you can visit davincimotor.com official website.

But the highly DaVinci-esque rendering does give an indication of what’s to come. It’s clearly long, low and muscular in an America-meets-Italy kind of way, drawing some comparison to the Ford GT and Mustang. Developed and assembled at Italdesign’s Moncaleieri headquarters, the concept features lengthy gullwing-style doors, wide fenders, air intakes on the hood and a four-seat interior configuration with two up front and two in the rear.

Based off some of its other former projects including the Duerta and Zerouno sports cars, it’s likely there will be liberal use of carbon fibre both for the bodywork and in the chassis. The concept measures 4,981 mm long and 2,124 mm wide, with a 2,900-mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 119 mm.

Italdesign will reveal the DaVinci concept at the Geneva Motor Show next week on March 5. The display is sure to draw plenty of supercar enthusiasts, as well as some industry professionals who may be looking to get a piece of it for their own brands.

The Italian design house conducts styling work for car firms, but has also produced its own Zerouno and Duerta sports cars in recent years. The new concept has been developed and built at Italdesign’s Moncalieri base. The firm claims it is a pure GT car for the premium segment, but has yet to reveal any of the powertrain’s technical details. The four-seater is 4981mm long and 2124mm wide, with a wheelbase of 2900mm and ground clearance of 119mm.

Italdesign said the design was conceived so that “with a few adjustments” it could be adapted to series production and “the family feeling of several brands”.The supercar will have gullwing doors, with aerodynamic tail-fins built into the rear doors. The Zerouno and Duerta both feature carbonfibre bodywork, with carbonfibre and aluminium chassis, and it is likely that the DaVinci will make extensive use of both.
