Editors note: Solomon Elimimian returned to the BC Lions on September 13. Its one of those good problems to have, but the question should be asked nonetheless. Solomon Elimimian arrived in Vancouver last week after being cut by two NFL teams – the Browns and the Vikings, and provided he doesnt pick up with another by September 13, hell rejoin the BC Lions. Elimimian was a CFL All-Star last season with the Lions, racking up 98 tackles, four sacks, and two interceptions in just 16 games. Nicknamed the Eliminator, he was generally regarded as one of the biggest – if not the biggest – hitters in the league before trying his luck south of the border. The only problem is, the Lions defence hasnt missed a beat this season, with Adam Bighill filling in admirably at the middle linebacker spot. A second-year CFLer, Bighill has 59 tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions through 10 games this year. Bighill has also been named Defensive Player of the Week twice this season, one more weekly award than Elimimian picked up all of last year. So, should Elimimian rejoin the Lions this week, and all indications are that he will, the Lions will have a choice to make. Listening to Lions general manager Wally Buono and head coach Mike Benevides talk about the situation, it sounds unlikely the team will trade one of them away, at least not right now. If thats the case – both players staying on the roster – how do the Lions go about maximizing the impact of each player? While neither is well-equipped physically to cover speedy receivers at the nickel linebacker spot, one could possibly slide out to the other side, so both Bighill and Elimimian are on the field at the same time. That would, of course, just create a similar problem, this time with linebacker Anton McKenzie. Would the Lions consider a defensive formation shift to get both players on the field at once as inside linebackers? Or is it as simple as rotating the two in the middle of the defence? The best option may simply be to trade one of them. Both Bighill and Elimimian have to be considered amongst the top middle linebackers in the league, and moving one to a linebacker-needy team could help BC shore up an area of weakness on their roster, or just net future assets. As mentioned by CFL on TSN analyst Milt Stegall over the weekend, the players contracts should also be taken into consideration, should the team decide to move one of them. Elimimian can test the free agent market this off-season, and will likely be looking for a big payday; that is if he isnt inclined to give the NFL another shot. Bighill, on the other hand, is still playing under his rookie contract. If the Lions are thinking trade, maybe thats the answer right there. So put yourself in Buonos shoes, and consider what would be best for the team. The Rouge asks: How should the Lions handle the middle linebacker position, and should Elimimian rejoin the team? As always, its Your! Call. cheap world cup jerseys . According to the Nashville Tennessean, Predators general manager David Poile will try to trade the Russian forwards rights or allow him to return to the Kontinental Hockey League. cheap soccer jerseys . Maybe their Sept. 15 bout isnt such a gross size mismatch after all. Maybe Lopez really has another shot at an incredible upset. The matchup is the latest unlikely chapter for Lopez (30-4, 18 KOs), a virtually unknown fighter outside of his native Southern California before last month.MALELANE, South Africa -- Frenchman Gregory Bourdy held a one-shot lead after the opening round of the Alfred Dunhill Championship on Thursday, with a revived Charl Schwartzel one of six players tied for second just behind him. Bourdy was flawless around Leopard Creek Country Club for a 6-under 66, carding six birdies and no dropped shots to set the early pace. Bourdy was just clear of Schwartzel and five others at the second event on the European Tours 2013 Race to Dubai. A fit-again Schwartzel, who won in Thailand last weekend for his first title since the 2011 Masters, had five birdies and no bogeys in his 5-under 67. The South African shared second with countrymen Louis de Jager, Oliver Bekker and Darren Fichardt and English pair Steve Webster and Richard Bland. Branden Grace was in a tie for eighth after his 68, while former British Open champion and No. 5-ranked Louis Oosthuizen struggled to a 73, chiefly because of a quadruple-bogey eight on the third hole -- his 12th. BBourdy has won on South Africas Sunshine Tour before and has three European Tour titles.dddddddddddd He had three birdies on either side of the turn in a smooth start to his week at Leopard Creek in northern South Africa. Behind him, Schwartzel was beginning to find his 2011 form after struggling for much of this year with a chest injury. Having powered to an 11-shot win in Bangkok on Sunday, Schwartzel put himself in early contention for back-to-back wins to begin his new season. "Its a nice start," Schwartzel said. "Whenever you can start off with a 5 under its good. Like I always say, you cant win on the first day, but you can sure lose it." Webster, who lost in a playoff in the opening tournament of the new European Tour season last weekend, also went bogey-free in his 5-under 67. Grace, a four-time winner this year, was tied for eighth on 4 under with Germanys Maximilian Kieffer, Englands Graeme Storm and another South African, Mark Williams. ' ' '
