Mississauga St. Michaels Majors head coach James Boyd sure likes the way his club is playing as the post-season approaches. Brandon Maxwell stopped all 25 shots he faced and the power play connected three times as the Majors shutout the host Oshawa Generals 3-0 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action. "We played a very solid defensive game and that made us a frustrating team to play against tonight," Boyd said. "It was a great team effort and we got contributions from throughout the lineup. Its a great way to head into the playoffs and it gives us a lot of building blocks to use heading into next week." Despite one more game to play before the regular season is through, Mississauga has clinched the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and will face the Barrie Colts in the first round of the playoffs. Mika Partanen had a goal and an assist for the Majors (33-27-7), who are winners of their last five games, while Spenser Cobbold and Dylan DeMelo scored a goal apiece. This was the third time this season that the Generals (31-29-7) have been blanked on the scoreboard. Kevin Bailie stopped 17 shots in a losing effort.
