About Koch International

Koch International was founded by Franz Koch in 1975 as an independant Austrian record label and music distribution company, specialising in German-language recordings. The US Office Koch Records was opened in 1987 by Franz's son, Michael Koch. Universal Music International acquired the European branch (not the U.S. division or its Canadian subsidiary) of the company in 2002, releasing under the name Koch Universal.
